Pours dark brown with medium head. Aroma is sweet, sourish, light raisin, cardamom, a bit cinnamon, croissant. Taste is sweet, sourish, raisins, caramel, but still some sour bitter dessert, dry red wine. ABV is well hidden, but after taste contains some gastric fluid. Good and not too sweet beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear very dark red brown. Fizzy head, gone almost immediately. Yeasty, bready aroma. Brown sugar and some fruit. Flavour has caramel, dried fruit and a good deal of alcohol heat. Could have been better with more body to balance the alc.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Version 2014, been in the cellar some time and it only got better. The scent was not very explosive but the taste was very much in balance. This one is a beer that gets better by age.

Very dark, a bit on the sweet side, but that’s the proper sweet not sugary.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark in the glass with a thin tan head. Aromas of dried pit fruit and roasted almond. Sweeter, with a vinous viscosity and a drying finish.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from 750ml bottle poured into a gold-rimmed Maryland microbreweries glass. (Those were the days; nowadays they give you plastic cups at beer festivals.) This was a 2010 vintage ale purchased in 2013 an cellared for another 33 months.
Opaque, yet cloudy, dark brown with a small tan head and good lacing.
Aroma of unbelievably complex dark fruit, dried dates, dark caramel, red wine, the crust on creme brulee, rich malt and cognac.
Taste of dates, cognac, complex dark fruit, rich dark malt, burnt caramel, berries and so much more than I can describe.
Medium/full body and medium/high carbonation.
An incredible beer. Now I'm curious how this would compare to fresh bottle. I suspect it improved considerably with cellaring. Anyway, one of the best beers I ever tasted.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 33cl. Opaque dark brown with a minimal, lacey head. Complex aromas of dried fruits, roasted caramel, alcohol. Medium to robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and creamy. Moderate to heavy sweet dark fruit character with low bitterness into a slightly sour finish. Quite pleasant.
