3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 neuromatt (610) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 21, 2011
33 cL bottle at the Academy of Spherical Arts in Toronto, served in a Trappist glass. Pours murky chestnut with no head and no lace. On the nose, there are huge aromas of brown sugar and dark fruit along with chocolate, vanilla and a hint of spice. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout with fruit and a slight sour component. The finish is long and spicy with a hint of hops. On the palate, it is medium-full in body with a syrupy texture and minimal carbonation. Overall, this is a nice malty sweet ale, reminiscent of a dubbel but much stronger. It is fairly simple but very enjoyable. This particular bottle was poured too cold; I wonder if it would have a better appearance if it were warmer. 2011-01-20

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a good white head. Sweet aroma with chocolate and spices. Hints of chocolate, caramel, nuts and spices in the taste. Alcohol well hidden. Had a young bottle. Would like to try an older one. Ok brew.

Inviting complex roasted nut and yeast aroma. Dry champagne quality immediately follows the nutty sweetness. Immaculately balanced.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 tkrjukoff (2286) - SWEDEN - DEC 26, 2010
Pours clear dark brown with small short lived brown head leaving some lacing. Aroma is caramel, syrup, nutty, roasted malts, bread alcohol and dark fruits. Full bodied sweet fruity mouthfeel. Flavor is sweet fruity, plums, dades, slightly acidy and hoppy. A bit too sweet to be honest. Lean acidy palate. Finishes sourish sweet and hoppy.

ery dark brown pour with a tan head that dissipates into a smathering. Aroma of estery belgian yeast, sweet candi sugar, and some nondescript frutiness. Flavor is sweet, strong, and caramelly. The belgian yeast is there but not doing anything particularly interesting. It’s sweet and huge and has a nice palate. Overall, pretty good belgian
