Bottle. Pours a brown beer with a tan head. Nose is of yeast, raisins and grapes. Sweet taste, a little too sweet for me. Still a decent brew.

33 cl bottle, Maastricht, The Netherlands. Deep mahogany colour, tan coloured thick head. Mixed spice and yeast aroma, sweet flavor that gives way to a mellow alcohol syrupiness.

A: The pour is a dark amber color with a thin off-white head.
S: The nose has a definite sugary, sweet note to it. Plenty of caramel malt and brown sugar, along with ripened dark fruits.
T: As the nose would indicate, there’s a lot of sweet, bready malts, brown sugar, plums, and raisins. Pretty standard flavors with a bit of a dry finish.
M: The body is fairly full with a soft, low carbonation and the aforementioned dryness.
D: A bit sweet for me, but not bad. The flavors are good, but considering what this beer "is", I was expecting a bit more.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 erickok (802) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 7, 2010
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2011 Updated: Filtered and very dark, almost black body with no head. Hay, yeast, pear, dark sugar. Very rich sweetness, even liquorish. Alcohol at the background - but just. Little carbonation, complex aftertaste. Interesting drink. Very sweet but nice. (75cl bottle, 6,50 EUR - 33cl bottle at supermarket)
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 gutowski (3) - USA - MAY 3, 2010 does not count
This dark amber beer had an aroma both familiar and un-namable. Taste was sweet and fruity on the front end, malty and tart with a medium, creamy body throughout the middle. It fills your head with alcohol all the way through the spectrum of flavors. Finishes clean. While I appreciate the complexity of this beer, I tend to like something more bitter than sweet. This beer left me feeling heavy and I struggled to finish it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 dionysus (1257) - Arizona, USA - APR 25, 2010
2006 Bottle pours brown with a healthy sized beige head that collapses quickly but leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is toffee, caramel, brown sugar, and nuts. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of raisins and plums. Alcohol is extremely well integrated and this beer has held up fairly well over the past 4 years.
