A strong Belgian brown ale.
After extensive tasting, trying to fulfil increasingly strict requirements, the brewmaster obtains a creamy, dark Belgian brown ale: Kasteelbier. The quality of the past is still unmatched and the beloved taste is very much of the present. Kasteelbier is a dark, artisanal beer, soft and mild, full and creamy. It can age for many, many years, as indicated on the bottle. 11% abv, serve at 12°C (54°F) (Translation by Martinus)

Tap at Jedna 3, Warsaw. Cola brown, translucent. Not so much carbonation. Light nutty and vinous aroma. Taste is simultaneously incredibly sweet and completely delicious. Like being bathed in a chocolate eclair... normally I don’t like beers this sweet but I’m happy to make an exception here. Body is flatter than I would have liked, but that doesn’t detract all that much from the beauty of this wonderful beer. Not a world beater, but still delicious.

Foam: very decent quick diminishing. Colour: dark ruby red and very dark brown. Aroma: brown sugar, molasses, dark malt, burned plum, fruits notes like passion fruits, a hints of chocolate. Taste: lower carbonation, full body with complex taste like molasses and liquorice, sweet vinous, syrupy sweet, some almost like wood notes with a hint of little bit of milk chocolate, on the palate very nice plums, sweet dark cherry, lingers fruity, brown sugar with alcohol notes. Very good Belgian strong ale /dark beer. I could only recommend to taste it.

Good, complex aroma and a deep, dark color. Small, beige head. Taste of coffee, dough, alcohol, coffee. Too sweet with a little aftertaste. Decent but that?s it.

Gran cerveza con toques dulces con poca espuma pero entra muy agradable en paladar. Toques achocalatados donde se notan los restos de vino. Entra tan bien que repetiría sin dudar.

33cl bottle. Pours dark brown color with quickly disappearing brownish head. Alcohol masks aroma. Taste is caramel and chocolate. It’s pretty sweet and syrupy. Nice beer but a little bit too sweet and too strong.

This beer is way to sweet for my taste. Thick sweet syrup with a dominate alcohol aroma and taste. Nope.

pint nine bottle all to myself. poured a deep red to almost brown with no visible head, plenty of carbonation. this bottle is almost 3 yrs old. aroma is sweet very sweet malts, some dark fruits and some alcohol. the flavor is cloyingly sweet. but lots of dark fruits like raisins, plums, cherries, alcohol. the bottling date says 070712...so I am guessing 3 yrs old. you feel the alcohol warmth on the end under the fruits. tasty for sure. thinking I might have drank this one a little sooner than later.

The beer has a beautiful dark appearance. When seen with a light behind it, it has a dark ruby red color. The foam is white and light. After a while the foam leaves a really beautiful drape with dark spots where you can see the beer. It reminds of a moon land. The smell is real sweet. There are fruity flavors of banana and raisin. The smell has a little alcohol aroma, but not very strong. The taste is resly sweet as well. There are many fruits in the taste. A hint of banana and also raisins, but also a light bread flavor. There is also a alcohol taste. This could be slightly less, the alcohol is slightly to much. That is the only positive of attention. He aftertaste is great. The sweet aroma’s remain for a long time. Great.
