3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
A dark beer with not much head. Sweet aroma like some old sweet shop with toffees and nuts, accompanied by a strong sweet taste, strong alcohol present, but a calmer smoother aftertaste. This is one of the big and full direct beers I like a lot. Very satisfying.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark reddish clear brown pour with small off white head. Hmm....nice chocolate and malty/yeasty smell and that dog in the rain again. Aroma?s better then expected. Wow...sweet but great taste of cherry jam, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and dark coffee like malts, brandy. Surprisingly good flavor. Thick and sticky, almost syrupy mouthfeel. Like it! Pretty sweet but a nice winterwarmer.

330ml bottle. pours very dark brown/black with tanned head that lasts and leaves good lacing. aroma is sweet, of malts, toffee, alcohol and yeast. taste: very very sweet, syrupy. toffee and the after taste is smooth and you can really taste the alcohol. i’m going to buy a few more and keep them a while to see what happens. really liked it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reddish dark brown, almost black beer with little dense and persistent beige head leaving lacing on the glass. Aromas of berryish red wine, sugar, dark fruits and little malts. The taste is licoricy sweet and salty. The aftertaste has first a strong flash of alcohol, then it turns into a long smooth finish which retains the aromas of the beer. No bitterness. Quite full and quite carbonated palate. Not the most complex dark Belgian beer but good for slow sipping on a cold day.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is sweet with hints of smoke. Dark brown color, light brown head, good lace. Sweet, light bitter, hint of smoke in the flavor as well, nutty, bit sugary. Firm and light alcoholic. Not very exceptional but certainly very nice drinking.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
bottle @ bierhuyske
pours clear brown, fast fading white foam .
smell is sweet, with a prominent earthy back
carbonation is actualy pretty good . the taste has way to much sugar , but not nearly as much as feared .
also it has a nice back of earthyness and caramel . it has some complexity, while i thought this was going to be straight forward filthy sweet ( like the blonde version ) so its way better than expected, its even a good beer . But not a supergood one ;) the alcohol comes forward a bit to much for the 11 abv , to me . but hey, i’ll have to admit this is way better than i thought it was
