COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong Belgian brown ale.
After extensive tasting, trying to fulfil increasingly strict requirements, the brewmaster obtains a creamy, dark Belgian brown ale: Kasteelbier. The quality of the past is still unmatched and the beloved taste is very much of the present. Kasteelbier is a dark, artisanal beer, soft and mild, full and creamy. It can age for many, many years, as indicated on the bottle. 11% abv, serve at 12°C (54°F) (Translation by Martinus)

Dark brown. Malty, bready smell with a hint of caramel. Very light carbonation level, taste - caramel, bread, kind a watery. Decent, dangerously easy drinkable for ABV.

Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Translucent reddish-brown color, no head or lace. Sweet roasty initial, brown sugar, bready, sugared raisins, plums, dark chocolate, and plenty of fumes. Has a small wine-like feel. Medium-heavy body, and very warming. Complex and way way sweet (but not really cloying). Overall, it hides its hefty alcohol content fairly well.

Thick opaque black appearance with a minimally sized white head. Pungent aroma containing notes of black liquorice, malt, dried berries, caramel, alcohol, and a wee bit of roast. Mid bodied for a beer of this stature. Creamy and silky. Aromatic qualities present in taste as well as brown sugar and cinnamon. Robust finish that lingers for quite some time. Complex, intense, and delectable.

0.33l bottle. Dark brown color with tanned head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and burnt sugar. Taste is heavy sweet with sugary character. Full body. Overall it’s interesting beer, but way too sweet for my preferences.

Muy oscura, casi negra. Espuma escasa, muy escasa. Aroma intenso, azucar tostada.

Tap at Jedna 3, Warsaw. Cola brown, translucent. Not so much carbonation. Light nutty and vinous aroma. Taste is simultaneously incredibly sweet and completely delicious. Like being bathed in a chocolate eclair... normally I don’t like beers this sweet but I’m happy to make an exception here. Body is flatter than I would have liked, but that doesn’t detract all that much from the beauty of this wonderful beer. Not a world beater, but still delicious.

Foam: very decent quick diminishing. Colour: dark ruby red and very dark brown. Aroma: brown sugar, molasses, dark malt, burned plum, fruits notes like passion fruits, a hints of chocolate. Taste: lower carbonation, full body with complex taste like molasses and liquorice, sweet vinous, syrupy sweet, some almost like wood notes with a hint of little bit of milk chocolate, on the palate very nice plums, sweet dark cherry, lingers fruity, brown sugar with alcohol notes. Very good Belgian strong ale /dark beer. I could only recommend to taste it.

Good, complex aroma and a deep, dark color. Small, beige head. Taste of coffee, dough, alcohol, coffee. Too sweet with a little aftertaste. Decent but that?s it.
