750ml bottle from Total Wine Tampa. Pours a dark, chocolatey brown with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Smells sweet and malty; hints of toffee and caramel. Flavor: Sweet and full-bodied, has a pleasing sweet, slightly sour finish. Tastes of malt, caramel, molasses. Hints of chocolate, maple, and root beer on subsequent tastes.

05/04 0.33 l at Hopdevil, Zagreb. Poured dark brown body with small head that didn’t stay out half a minute. Sweet malty aroma, roasted sugar, some black cherries and berries, nice enough. Flavor also good, but too simple and ordinary, caramelized sugar hides all that alcohol in very rustical way. Nothing more. Full bodied of course. Finish is nice long and pleasant. A good beer but could be better for that what it is.

Very rich dark Belgian strong ale. Bite is extraordinary. Flavors are malty with caramel, apricot, and brown sugar apparent. Acquired in bottle at my local GrillSmith restaurant.

330ml bottle, 2005 vintage. Ruby-brown body with a slight haze. Two-finger, beige foam slowly fading. Sour cherries in aroma offset by sweet almonds. My mouthfeel says oversweet in spite of acid plums and spicy fruits. The alcohol strength is noticeable, but mostly covered by all the candy sweetness. Short aftertaste (03.04.2008).

Pours dark red with off white head. The aroma is very sweet. The taste is sweet and full of Alcohol. beer lacks balance but is very flavorable as long as you like sweet.

Draft. Pours dark brown with a diminishing head. Spicy yeast aroma. Sour cherries, plum, and some alcohol with good carbination make this a smooth beer to drink. You get a bit of the 11% at the end.

Dark ruby brown, lacing beige head. Strongly alcoholic aroma, sweet malts and liqueur. Flavor is sweet with dark fruits and cherry/almond liqueurs. Finishes with lingering, port like soft tannins and some hop bitterness. Medium bodied and sticky palate. Very rich in flavors, but all that alcohol is a bit over the top for me.
