I tried this beer poured from the bottle into a trappist glass while in Brussels. It poured a syrupy dark color, with a slight ruby-red tint. It had a small, peripherary, off-white, bubbly head that had only slight retention and a small build. There was a dense fruit aroma featuring raisins, apricots, and a touch of orange or citrus hops; also a slight caramel malt scent. The taste was great, a blend of sour and light bitter characters with a dense sweetness and some raisin flavor too. It had a very soft, smooth mouthfeel, even somewhat velvety, with a mild carbonation and without any burn. A great beer, that was served on the warmer side, but still very drinkable and full of character.

Hazy dark amber with a fleeting head, nice lacing. Great aroma of plums figs, cherries and booze. Rich smooth mouthfeel. Taste is pit fruits, cotton candy, vanilla with a stinging alcohol tang to finish. A damn fine beer here. 61206

Dark brown, with a tan head. Aroma is malt, raisins, and alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, raisins, alcohol, and molasses.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a semi-opaque softly carbonated dark ruby red brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was brown malt sweet and Irish Red malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of mildly vinous brown malt wheat and mild candy.

Dark red-brown color, not a foamy, minimal head (huge alcohol percentage...). The aroma is like a mountain of chocolate, a river of alcohol and a cloud of fruits. And the taste. Picturesce, like the aroma. Sweet, syrupy liquid with chocolate, raisins and cherries. The big alcohol percentage is hidden behind the complex flavour. You can feel the roasted malt on the tongue with the sweet aftertaste.

Pours a dark brown with minimal light brown head. Smells of fruity alcohol, almost wine-like. Tastes pleasantly sweet, with a syrupy mouthfeel and after-taste. The alcohol is well hidden in the taste. Overall...a nice ale.

Bottle thanks to the Champion. Pours a dark brown with a thin light brown head. The aroma is mostly dark fruits with some candy and sugary qualities. The taste is really sweet and syrupy; dark fruits, melted candies and chocolate, dark sweet cherries, molasses and some malt. Just like the description; a Belgian brown ale. Interesting, really sweet but good.

Aroma of sweet malts and some grains. Amber color with a small brown head. Sweet flavor throughout with a light amount of bitterness developing in the middle and a little alcohol in the finish. Creamy palate.
