COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong Belgian brown ale.
After extensive tasting, trying to fulfil increasingly strict requirements, the brewmaster obtains a creamy, dark Belgian brown ale: Kasteelbier. The quality of the past is still unmatched and the beloved taste is very much of the present. Kasteelbier is a dark, artisanal beer, soft and mild, full and creamy. It can age for many, many years, as indicated on the bottle. 11% abv, serve at 12°C (54°F) (Translation by Martinus)

Amber-brown color with big beige head. Boozy and sugary aroma, a bit of spicy yeasts and lots of fruchtkompott. Taste is sweet, too sweet for my taste, with more candied sugar and candied fruits. Belgian Strong on Steroids, but on the unbalanced ones. Nice if you like heavy booze and sugar. Carbonation is still fine, not too aggressive. Quite nice, but nothing you can drink much of - too sweet taste.

Profunda en aroma y en boca. Dulce y poco dejo amarga, por lo que es fácil de tomar a pesar de los 11°

Bottle 330ml. Clear dark brownish-amber with small beige head. Sweetish aroma of cherry, prune, raisin, a bit alcoholic. Very sweet flavor, cherry liqueur, prune, carob, date honey, quite alcoholic, sweet sticky finish. Flat, oily texture, medium to full-bodied.

Pours a short beige head. Candy and distinct chocolate flavors, light malt and coffee. Dark brown body. Very sweet in mouth, probably too sweet. Low carbonation. Alcohol and chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good, strong taste, but too sweet for me. Try combining with cheesefondue or meatballs

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2014 Nice colour and nice nose. But a very flat beer, the taste is very disappointing. Waaaay too sweet for me and the two other people who tried it with me...

opaque, very dark brown with a tannish head that disappears quickly. smell is leathery, dark, raisins, alcohol. taste is very pruney, a little bit chocolatey, some brightness in it. distractingly sweet by the end of it. palate seems strangely thin but overall comes across well. this is a pretty nice, though largely straightforward beer.

This is good stuff. Pours deep brown with little off-white head. Aroma is dark fruits. Very smooth, creamy. Taste is mostly cola with a smooth finish.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep silky dark colour. Aroma is chocolate and dark toffee. Taste is rich & boozy, possibly too much so. A touch sweet with chocolate and fruitcake but ultimately rather syrupy. Not diggin this too much.
