Nov 20, 2006 (08.01.06) One pint 9.4 oz green bottle from DiCarlo’s, Mundelein, IL. 11% ABV. Bottle labeled 05-2009. Sweet malt and dried prune aromas. Poured clear reddish brown with small off-white head. Soft carbonation. Full-bodied ale that starts with moderate sweetness and dried fruit (raisin and prunes)/caramel flavors. Finished with light malt fade. Smooth and delicious, this is an excellent Belgium ale.

Nov 12, 2006 Dark brown, sweet, warming feeling. Malt and brown sugar. No hops detectable, which means it is far too sweet for my liking.

Nov 5, 2006 Very Tasty beer. Plum and alcohol aromas. Soft and full palate. Little on the sweet side, but very rich belgian taste. Finishes sweet but clean. Kind of flat also.

Oct 28, 2006 Bouteille verte de 750 ml, avec bouchon de liège, obtenue via Importations Privées Bièropholie. Arôme: Odeur de raisins et de caramel. Apparence: La couleur est brune légèrement voilée. Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de chocolat et de prunes. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture vineuse. Oct 17, 2006 In the aroma I miss fruit. The aroma is heavy wich can be normal for heavy beers. The beer is sweet wich is a bit strange for more heavy beers. I prefer dryer beers with more aroma.

Oct 16, 2006 I had to buy a case of this gem... Very sweet subtile aromas, Caramel / toffee... Exploding sweet complexe flavors hard to pinpoint exactly ... There’s the obvious taste of alcohol in this 11% brown beauty but it doesn’t over power... Fanstaticly well balanced beer!
