Slightly funky aroma with plum, pear, alcohol and a hint of cocoa. Thick and sweet with a little alcohol burn. Plummy, spicy flavors. Stronger in alcohol than flavor. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2006 Pours a dark brown with small amount of head. Aroma is light with small scent of yeast and malt. Flavor is real sweet with caramel, sugar cane, cinnamon and some spice. Old beer, but i bet this was a real nice strong ale when it was fresh on the shelf. atlasmonster (3), portland, Oregon, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 23, 2006 one thing you will get from most of the reviews (with this one as no exception) is that this beer is really sweet. there is a lot of character with a variety of dried fruit, chocolate and coffee nuance but way too syrupy for me drink it regularly. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 23, 2006 11.2 oz bottle. Brown cola colored. Barely kicks up a decent head that quickly dies to a splat. Vinous with cantaloupe; Bananas Foster. Taste is sweet with cloves and ’nanners but smoothes out with mild hops before cloying. Medium light. Alcohol builds as it warms becoming a bit sharp. tennisjoel (936), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 18, 2006 This stuff is the SHIT! Had this on tap at the Blue Nile. Wow! They have some damn good beers here, Pigfoot makes sure of that! Alcohol is detected, however, it is expected at 11%. Let’s face it, beer from Belgium normally is excellent, another excellent offering here. The one potential negative is that this beer is very sweet. However, it is not cloying at all. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 14, 2006 A brew dominated by dark fruit, and sweetness, alcohol was well hidden, but still noticable, just too sweet for me on this day, I will let it warm up more next time, I think it would improve that way for me, still good, but not my favorite. brewed 2004. maeib (4699), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2006 Bottled. A very dark brown coloured beer with a purple hue and barely any head. The aroma is vinuous with heavy fruit notes - plums and prunes. The taste is very sweet and fruity; maybe too sweet. The alcohol is not as obvious as one would expect, but the sugary sweetness is. A nice sipping beer but easy on the sugariness guys. GarethYoung (1110), Glasgow, Scotland
