Kasteelbier Donker

Dark brown in colour. Complex caramel malt aromas along with notes of raisin, vanilla, and other dried fruits. It’s fairly thick bodied, and has some interesting flavors going on, such as malt, prunes, brown sugar, and a mild chocolate note. Complex and strong stuff. Thanks radiomgb!

12z bottle. Murky brown hue. Lemons in the nose along with a subtle malt note. Smooth and sweet flavor with raisins and lightly roasted, caramel malts. Good example but I think a lil young.

(750ml bottle) Pours a murky brown body with a moderate creamy beige head. Aroma of raisins, toffee, plums, and malt. Rich flavor of molasses, raisins, dates, brown sugar, and malt. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel with a sweet finish

A Mes rate: Head was poor and over all to quickly. Bubblegum hit to the aroma with some iron and seaweed and to the flavour too and slighty herbish. To me its just all sugar and alcohol. Sickly sweet. Personally I don’t see what the fuss is about. Its ok but far from great.

Deep red colour if you hold it up to the light,thin white head that clings slightly to the glass .Huge malt-loaf aroma and plum taste.Sweet fruity beer!

Kasteel Donker is a very strong belgian ale. The colour is so dark you could believe it’s a stout. Strong aromas of coffee, malt and spices.

28 May 2005 - Swwet choc malt hop aroma. Clear brown-red colour, great head and lacing. Nice acid, sweet malt balance. Tangy finish with good balanced malt.

Bottle. Dark brown with thin lasting head. Aroma of candy sugar and alcohol Flavour is a surprisingly delicious mix of alcohol icing sugar, table molasses and a sweet spice.
