MoritzF (4856), Bochum, Germany Jun 7, 2005 (bottle, brewed anno 2004) Dark reddish brown colour with a small creamy off-white layer. Aroma of dried fruits (raisins and prunes) and molasses. Very sweet flavour, also sweet malty and sugary taste with hints of fruitiness and caramel. Although the alcohol is perfectly hidden by its immense sweetness, this one is way too sweet for my kind of taste. veronika (410), Sweden Jun 1, 2005 Black, creamy head. Aroma from red wine, nutty and from licorice. Sweet flavor, cinnamon and sweet fruits. Too much alcohol and too sweet. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark May 29, 2005 Brown colour with a baige head. Sweet raisin fruity aroma and a sweet berry taste. Medium to full body and a sweet light alcoholic finish. joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 17, 2005 Draught at Ølbaren.
Redbrown colour with a lacing beige head.
Sweet aroma of dried fruit.
Sweet flaovur of dried fruit, dark bread and chocolate.
Reminds me a bit of dansih low alcohol’s (mørk hvidtøl). But this one is, of course, more powerfull. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark May 16, 2005 Vintage 1998. Pours cloudy dark brown with a disappearing tan head. Very full and rather vinous aroma dominated by raisin and prunes. Sweet, fruity and sugary with some fusty wood tones from the age. Extremely sweet and sticky flavor of malt, fruit and raisin and a bit of sourness in the end. Sticky mouthfeel. No sign of the alcohol. All right but gets cloying in the long run. Thanks a lot Michael (Dalle) for the bottle! heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA May 16, 2005 Thanks pintbypint. This pours a very dark brown a ruby color. The aroma is maple with brown sugar and dark bread. Also some Golden Delicious apples. The taste is sickly sweet at first. There is also light chicolate with peaches and brandy. pintby pint suggested I shoudl try this one again to appreciate it. I will when I get the chance. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 14, 2005 Updated: Jan 9, 2006(Bottle 33 cl) Very dark and extremely full-bodied. A pruny sweetness with loads of malt. A bit flat actually. A very complex strong ale. Try it from the beautiful Kasteel-glass at the castle grounds in Ingelmunster. 100993 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA May 12, 2005 Bottle: Dark copper, nearly brown, beige head, mediocre frothiness, attractive lacing.   Hot aroma, noticable alcohol, grape juice on the nose.   Sweet earthiness, some dark pitted fruit, slightly vinous on the tongue.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Slight heat on the exit, grape juice is still present.   Good, but definitely different.   Thanks Jeff!
