dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 21, 2004 Cola Brown / dark red in colour with a huge frothy and tanned head. There is a full aroma of cola, plums, sugar, espresso, fruits... the taste is sickening sweet with a touch of ginger and lots of wine... spices show up with malts, but I think I got a bad batch. The smell was nice but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Not what I’d call a satisfying beer. JohnC (2227), Mission Viejo, California, USA Oct 17, 2004 This is a tasty beer. Sticky sweet flavor, the pour is brown. I found it to be delicious. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 9, 2004 pleasantly surprisingly made the LCBO Fall list. Its only drawback is the knockout alcohol punch. Georgeous brown, barleywine and quality yeast aroma. Great taste in my favorite style. Hops, fruit and sugary malt. Good night! TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Oct 8, 2004 Bottled. Purchased at Delirium Cafe. Dark rich brown color with a small ring of foam around the edges of the glass. Nose is rich malts, dark fruits, spice and candy sugar. Taste is sweet with brown sugar and candy sugar notes, ripened fruits and alcohol. Exquisite! Body is smooth with light alcohol warming and light carbonation feel. Finishes very well with sweet chocolate notes, alcohol and dark fruits! Awesome beer! Hugerat (432), somerville, Massachusetts, USA Oct 5, 2004 Thick and rich flavors of raisins, chocolate and dark malts. Some over-ripe fruits as well. Full bodied with a long finish. dornoy (678), Lyngby, Denmark Sep 27, 2004 Updated: Oct 5, 2004From bottle at room temperature. A brown long head that stays a good minute in the glass. Dark brown reddish colour, aroma like ripe red fruits, tones of citrus at the beginning. Carbonation is limited and dissappears fast. The taste gets sweeter with time, and aftertaste is sweet. quite filling, this brew would be an first-class dessert beer, or a disgestive to enjoy for a long Winter evening. The alcohol (11%) isn’t obvious when you drink it, but beware when you rise from the table <grin>. First-class all around ! arhythmt (69), USA Sep 24, 2004 An excellent beer that remains unavailable in the Seattle area, unfortunately. Terrific chocolate cake flavor (seriously), very thick and filling, not suitable when the weather is nice...definitely a winter brew. The year makes all the difference with this beer: Age your bottle for at least two or three years before you drink it. Trust me, it makes a huge difference! Syd (888), Waconia, Minnesota, USA Aug 29, 2004 750 pours a dark amber brown with a fake tan color head and some lace. The aroma is of dark fruits and some yeast notes. The flavor is dark, sweet, and a touch of yeast with a super rich pallet. Overall, this is a big beer that is also very drinkable.
