Kasteelbier Donker

I had this for the first time after visiting Kasteel De Harr - there just aren't enough 'o's in smooth to describe this beer! I am looking frantically for it here in the States

Simply one of the finest beers made anywhere. I am reminded each time that I have it that I am hard pressed to come up with a more pleasing and satisfying beer than this one. Sampled from a 25 oz green bottle this beer pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. There is a moderate sweet, sour, fruity and spicy aroma. The flavor is strong with fruit and a hint of spice and is quite sugary. There are elements of plum, cherry and apricot in the flavor. There is a really pleasant fruity aftertaste that lingers. A classic and a favorite.

A true contender for the best beer in the world. Deep, sharp, mellifluous. About the best thing you could drink before bed--heaven in a glass.

Heaven in a bottle Dark, malty, sweet, bitter, huge huge flavour. Could drink it forever.

I have to admit, I fell in love with this beer after my first sip, what a beautiful dark, sweet, beer. At first I thought the sweetness would be too much, I just couldn't stop drinking it, and the aroma was beautiful, only wish I had more.
