Kasteelbier Tripel Blonde 11%

2008-06-26 from bottle: Spicy and fruity vapors. Golden yellow with no head. Spicy flavor with lemon notes…hot finish. Thin and fizzy.

This one scores a perfect 5 for me! I love the combination oof Sweet and bitter in this gorgeous brew. Slightly skunky as well. YUM.

75cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Rated on 3/17/08. Pours a cloudy, light golden color with one-finger white head. Good head retention. Aroma is floral in character with notes of citrus, faint juniper, and pine. Tastes sweet, hints of cotton candy, citrus tang, and lively carbonation. Quick, smooth, sweet finish. Very drinkable tripel style ale.

06/06 0.33 l bottle @ Hopdevil, Zagreb. Poured pretty hazy golden body with medium head that stayed up short. Weak aroma, yeasty (fruits) with some malts. Fruity bittersweet flavor, dominated by orange and sweet caramel. Hints of bread and peppermint like spices are felt as well. Alcohol is very neatly hidden, but surely noted at its 11%. Long, fruity, bitterish, just slightly alcoholic finish. Not bad at all, after I was disappointed by Donker, I got better than I’ve expected from this.

33 cl bottle: poured a hazy yellow with a large white head. Yeasty aroma with some sweet doughy notes and a touch of banana. Slight metallic also. Flavor is lightly sweet with a bit of grapes, apples, and bananas. 11% well hidden. Good beer.

aroma - spices, cloves, yeast, some malt, flowers, honey appearance - clear golden with a foamy white head flavor - yeast, salt, honey, cloves, spices, some tartness and sweet biscuits develop with a slightly sweet buttery cracker-ish bitterness on the finish palate- most redeeming quality of this brew. medium full body - yeasty, with just the right amount of carbonation not the best tripel i’ve had. wish it was a little sweeter w/ more hop presence. i tend to like tripels to be more citrusy as well. not bad though. 11% alcohol is very well hidden. overall pretty good and worth a try.

This beer was not the tastiest tripel I’ve ever had, but for 11%, it was quite gentle and smooth. I would highly recommend it. This beer poured a clear golden color, quite a bit more amber than other tripels I’ve had recently, into a very shallow Kasteel-branded chalice. Aroma was clovey, with a significant alcohol presence. Flavor was devoid of any alcohol burn, and was more cloviness accompanied by significant medicine-y flavor. Mouthfeel was quite smooth. This is a very goo tripel, and quite smooth given its ABV. Had this on-tap at Roman’s Pub in St. Francis out of a cool Kasteel glass with the brewery at the bottom of the stem, atop the foot of the glass.

750 ml ... labeled kasteel triple .. green bottle ... light apple and yeast aroma ... slightly cloudy ... champagne color ... light fruit taste ... pasty finish .... very light tasting ... great deal at $5
