Weak head that dies quickly. Clear, golden colourwith some bubbles.
Typical sweetish-fruity tripel smell. Salty, fruity spicy flavour with a salty, sweetie, bitter-sour palate. Somewhat undefined. Bit too alcoholic. smith4498 (866), Miami, Florida, USA

Very sweet and definately alcoholic flavor. Creamy mouthfeel, meduim body and fizzy carbonation. This is not bad but not really representative of the style. This is a unique beer. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Bottle. Small tan head that was mostly lasting, no lacing, some carbonation, transparent, and a reddish brown hue. Nose was malty, sweet and alcohol. Ditto for the flavor. Tingly mouthfeel and mediumb in body. Quaffable and well balanced, but there are better out there of this style IMO. BillyM (149), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

The bready yeast also mixes well against the citrus. I like the way the combination of flavors enhance the alcohol. SSSteve (2056), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 19, 2008 Bottle purchased at John’s Grocery in Iowa City. Poured a clear golden color. Head was white and tenacious with good retention and lacing. The aroma was very refined with the different elements balanced an harmonious. I smelled clove, light brown sugar, yeasty bread dough, sea salt, and a hint of cheddar cheese. Sweet on the tongue with distinct alcohol and some fruit. Light to medium bodied, probably lightened up by all the EtOH. Tasted of champaign and piles of clove. Another good abbey-ish beer made at a brewery staffed by what I assume are non monks. Or are they? scrizzz (1265), kirkland, Washington, USA
