A tripel, as solid as a castle. A full bodied beer, brewed with Belgian hops, to enjoy quietly, with a powerful, distinctive flavour: flowery, hop bitterness and soft alcohol.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, sugar, hops, yeast, antioxidant (ascorbic acid).

A true contender for the best beer in the world. Deep, sharp, mellifluous. About the best thing you could drink before bed--heaven in a glass.

had this on draft in antwerp, in a string of bad ones....is that possible, yes it is, if your not in the right place. this was the best of the lot at this old cafe we sat in all by ourselves as the bartender looked as us uneasily. (didnt know if he just didnt like us or because he hated GWB, which most of them do) nice belgium yeast in the nose with beuatiful haze and a thick white head. banana fruit and spices no real alcohol feel . smooth almost greasy on your palate. good.

Reddish-brown hue--almost opaque. Nice heavy aroma with some sweetness coming through. Taste is strong but not as harsh as I’d expect from an 11% Belgian. Nice

Golden ale by taste Huge tripel by strength. Some bubblegum and fruit esters. Lite banana and pear notes. Some candy sugar and honey hints with big alcohol warmth. Good conditioning and mouthfeel with atouch toouch to much alcohol.

My bottle calls it a Tripel, it tastes like a tripel, so that’s what I assume it is. Body is pale gold with very little head. Aroma is moderately alcoholic with a good deal of yeasty and bubblegum notes. Flavor is a bit dull, however; it’s dominated by malty sweetness without the complexities of spice and other flavors evident in a top-notch tripel. It’s not bad, just nothing I’d ever buy again, especially when I can get a sixer of Golden Monkey for what I paid for this bottle.

Great blonde!! strong in taste as well as alcohol. The flavor lacks some, but the palate sure makes up for it. It has a nice golden colour and a fair head. Great for a summer day on grand place in Brussels.

Cork top dated 7-2002. Very mellow and not complex at all. Alcohol well hidden. What I got in both aroma and taste was mild banana, bubblegum and cantaloupe. I’ll try it again sometime.

Sweet, though not cloying, with banana esters and perhaps some citrus. Warming alcohol feeling, but not in the taste. Odd but interesting flavors and nose I’m sure are atributable to the Belgian yeasts. A very tasty and satisfying tripel that is as good as Piraat, but a couple of bucks cheaper for the 750 ml bottle.

330ml served in a Duvel tulip. Clear golden pour with a nice persistent head and lacing everywhere. Yeasty, musty aroma. First sip is a mouthfull of booze. (not a bad thing.. I sure dont drink beer for the water content) Sweet yeasty, doughy flavors with a note of banana. A little spicy, but no one flavor dominates other than the alcohol. A somewhat winey character. Dries out in the finish. An interesting beer with a real kick, and much easier to drink than you would expect of an 11% ale. Bought the 4-pack for 11.99 at the local bottle shop. Cheers!

33cl bottle, dated 12-04. Pours murky gold without any real head. Aroma of alcohol drenched tropical fruits. Drinks the same way, some substantial sweetness, a lot of heat. But not horrible. Way too hot for me to say it has any grace. I wonder what would be if they knocked this down 2%ABV? May be even boozier than Westmalle, which this tried to copy.
