Pours a clear golden with a large frothy white head with nice lacing. Semi-dry floral bready Belgian yeasty aroma has a touch of candi sugar and caramel malt. Starts with a pleasant subtle candy toffee sweetness turning more dry and earthy, semi-bitter toward the finish. Has some complexity, but not nearly as much as I would expect from a Belgian beer with this much alcohol. Of course the alcohol is pretty well hidden. Overall a nice Belgian Strong.

Well, once again, I started this off too cold - alcohol in the taste, thinner aroma. So, I let it warm a bit - aroma blossomed to a nice peachy fruit. MMMMMMMM, sweet fruity malts, lingering for a long time at the finish. I generally don't care for the sweeter stuff, but this was a little thinner, not so cloying, and enough dryness, too. This is not the best, but at the moment, it really hit the spot.

Bottled. A hazy copper coloured beer with a large white head which leaves sporadic thick lacing. The aromas are alcohol, spices and sugars, and the flavours are thick alcohol, sugars and a bit of warm stewed banana.

cloudy dark yellow, creamy appearance with lace. Smooth, with yeast flavours of bannana and sweet fruit coating the experience. Alcohol not detectable but then hammers you.

The evening "on tap" standard at ’t Cafeeke. Always poured a deep gold color with the requisite small white head. Nice yeasty notes in the nose, with a big sweet malt edge. Lotsa alcohol in the taste..more sweet malt and yeastiness. I loved this stuff. Some bitterness in the end, but not much.

The 11.2 ounce bottle poured a clear, golden yellow colored beverage with a small creamy white head that was completely lasting and left great lacing on the glass. The aroma was sour. It was primarily sour fruit notes but there were also hints of old leather, pepper and coriander. The body was medium-full with a soft carbonation and a smooth creamy texture. The flavor starts out lightly sour on the tip of the tongue then as it matures on the palate it takes on a sweeter character. The finish is long and has a definite alcohol warmth high in the throat.

On tap at The Taphouse in Norfolk, VA. Slightly hazy gold with a minute white ring of a head. Not much in the nose, a bit of a fruitlike aroma. Flavor is light white grape, some coriander and light malt. Body is light, and, combined with the carbonation, makes this beer really snap off your tongue. Some additional spiciness shows toward the end. Very drinkable, pretty good, but really not stellar.

Wow! Some powerful stuff. Very light straw color with tons of carbonation and a big white fluffy head poured into a Chimay goblet. Very spicy compared to many tripels with lots of sweet alcohol burn. definitely a sipper. Some tripels are almost like session beers in taste, not this one but still very nice. It is an over the top Chimay.
