A tripel, as solid as a castle. A full bodied beer, brewed with Belgian hops, to enjoy quietly, with a powerful, distinctive flavour: flowery, hop bitterness and soft alcohol.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, sugar, hops, yeast, antioxidant (ascorbic acid).

Finally got to use my cool Kasteel glass. Great glass. Average beer. Poured murky brown with no appreciable head. Aroma was slightly vinous. Some fruit notes. Light mouthfeel. The flavor was unimpressive. Some sweetness and some spice. So-so.

My bottle calls it a Tripel, it tastes like a tripel, so thatís what I assume it is. Body is pale gold with very little head. Aroma is moderately alcoholic with a good deal of yeasty and bubblegum notes. Flavor is a bit dull, however; itís dominated by malty sweetness without the complexities of spice and other flavors evident in a top-notch tripel. Itís not bad, just nothing Iíd ever buy again, especially when I can get a sixer of Golden Monkey for what I paid for this bottle.

33cl bottle. Good white head. Clear blond colour. The alcohol is very well hidden

11-2010 I wrote this: 33cl Dumpy brown bottle, poured into a Duvel glass. This is one of my new son-in-laws favourite beers, suprised Iíve not reviewed it before. This bottle was best before 01-2011, so Iíve been storing it for some time. The beer poured a golden bright colour, a good looking white head sat on top. Most golden beers look in a Duvel glass in my opinion. The aroma of yeast and baked shortbread biscuits. The taste and flavours almost hide the alcohol, but no quite. On the sweet side, it has an easy feel to it, very drinkable even with the obvious alcohol content floating on the surface. The beer is a good blend of the basic ingrediants (yeast, hops and malts), one of the better strong Belgian Tripels. This review was taken before I hit the Normandie Camembert (very ripe) and crackers (garlic and herb flavoured). However the second half of beer went very well with food and they complimented each other perfectly.

Bottle, 11%. Clear deep golden with tiny white head. Aroma is maly, yeast. phenols, spices and alcohol. Flavour is malt, yeast, phenols, over carbonated, spices, alcohol, medium sweet, orange peel and a little bitter.

Everything about it is bright and sweet, but too much so. Green apples, pears, apple juice, even. Sparkling sweet and crisp. Gassy. Is my bottle turned? Iím drinking it 17 months after bottling (Oct. 2011) but I didnít think that was a problem with high ABV beers if they were stored properly.

Golden with a small white head. Yeasty aroma with an earthy touch. Dryish yeasty flavour with notable alcohol. Technically well balanced with well hidden alcohol, itís just not my kind of beer

Pours blonde with a quick white head; nose is fruity with a touch of booze but not particularly deep. Flavor is also disappointing in its simplicity and reliance on alcohol for flavor; this is too high for tripel, and simply too boring. Overall itís a decent brew, but I expect a lot more for a legit belgian tripel and for the price tag.
