3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It has a light amber color with a white head. The smell has some fruitiness in it but it is mainly a smoky spice aroma. It reminds me of beef jerky. At the first sip, I noticed the same spice. It also has some citrus and malt flavor. The alcohol is strong, but not to harsh on the mouth. It is pretty good stuff. Not the best Abbey Tripel, but far from the worst.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours golden with a fizzy white head. Aromas of candied lemon peel, bread, sweet malt, floral, alcohol, and a bit of estery pome fruit (apple/pear). Taste is bread, yeast, light pome fruit esters, a bit floral, boozy, slight almond, citrus peel, and medium bitterness. Fizzy, medium body. Dry finish. Definitely not my favorite tripel, a bit too sweet and boozy and lacking in complexity.

Bulles agressives inutilement, gout alcoolisé fortement, peu de nuances, pas une réussite.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Slightly hazy light orange with shinny golden hues and a creamy white head. Aroma is spicy yeastiness with some lemon and sugar. Flavor is syrupy sweet with some peaches and a slight floral hops touch, warming bittersweet aftertaste. Medium to heavy palate, not sticky but alcoholic and a bit cloying. A rather full trippel and a tad too sweet.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
looks the part. Nice clear pale yellow with a huge white head. Prickly lively carbonation. Taste is also as a typical triple. Flavor is correct. a bit dry in the finish with lots of yeast some spiciness and sweet malts and hops. it has a nice vinous quality.11% is too doninant and makes it a bit harsh. Not very subtle. I like this style but this is not my favourite triple.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Backlog rating. Keg at FOB, Rimini. It pours a clean golden color with a large fluffy white head that sticks around quite long. Aroma is yeasty, citrusy, dry and spicy, with notes of dough, brad, biscuit, floral, esters, black pepper. Taste is dry and grainy, grassy with notes of violets and orange marmalade. Light alcohol burn. Finishes quite bitter and dry, lightly spicy. Full bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, a nice traditional tripel, although ABV makes is quite a sipper.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33cl bottle bb04/2017. Smells like a corny Weizendoppelbock: banana peel, ester overdrive, green apple compote, jenever-like ethanol fumes. Taste adds thise aromas on a chewy bubblegum palate but doesn’t really take them anywhere particular. Meandering, near-vegemite yeastiness, particularly astringent in the finish. An old-school tripel whopper of a sipper that can slowly make you feel the migraine building...
