A tripel, as solid as a castle. A full bodied beer, brewed with Belgian hops, to enjoy quietly, with a powerful, distinctive flavour: flowery, hop bitterness and soft alcohol.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, sugar, hops, yeast, antioxidant (ascorbic acid).

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2011 Bottle. Poured a clear dark brown with a small light brown creamy head that disappeared very quickly and had fair lacing. The aroma was of nutty dark malts and a horse blanket scented yeast with notes of brown sugar, raisons and dried fruit. It tasted sweet, rich and malty with hints of brown sugar at the start but matured into a nice sweet-sour yeasty flavor with notes of dried fruit at the end that left the flavor lasting an average duration on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was medium in body and nice and creamy in texture. Overall a very interesting brew. Sweet yet bold in flavor, which did a great job of concealing the high alcohol content. One definitely worth trying again.

Bottled March 17th, 2013. Light gold with plenty of foam. Long lasting with lacing. Caramel malt with maple syrup like aroma. Tiny bit of what I suspect is oxidation. Fruity, with hints of tartness, more massive than any sweet notes that I expected to find. Quite different than the smell but good in its own right. 11% abv seems to be on the timid side. Decent mouthfeel though I reckon some carbonation was lost in the 3 and a half years. $2. On clearance. Worthy.

Good tripel. Nothing wrong with it. No special aroma, but good mouthfeel, palate and aftertaste. Little spicy.

Bottle. Semi-clear golden body, medium to small head. Aroma has honey, biscuity malts and Belgian yeast. A bit thin mouthfeel. Taste has sweet malts, caramelly and biscuity. Hops are dry and herbal. Finish has notes of white wine sourness and the booze is pretty evident. Not a very smooth sipper. More yeast could give this beer a more fuller and perhaps smoother feeling.

Cloudy. Golden. Beautiful white head. Sticks on walls of glassware. Lots of yeast, apples, pear, candy. Medium to full body. Sticky texture. Sweetish taste. Candy, sherry, yeast. Light Alco. Boozy. Light bitterness of alco + hops. Very warming. Very good.

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2016 A classic piece we got here. This is your classic "Strong Belgian beer", somewhat similar to Bush ambrée, alcohol level is damn good and aftertaste lasts for a while in mouth. If you?re looking for something enjoyable that delivers well on every aspect, this is the way to go. Especially great with dry sausage to eat along! APPROVED BY TAVERNY?S BLACK METAL CREW!
