3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2011 Bottle. Poured a clear dark brown with a small light brown creamy head that disappeared very quickly and had fair lacing. The aroma was of nutty dark malts and a horse blanket scented yeast with notes of brown sugar, raisons and dried fruit. It tasted sweet, rich and malty with hints of brown sugar at the start but matured into a nice sweet-sour yeasty flavor with notes of dried fruit at the end that left the flavor lasting an average duration on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was medium in body and nice and creamy in texture. Overall a very interesting brew. Sweet yet bold in flavor, which did a great job of concealing the high alcohol content. One definitely worth trying again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Clear straw with a white head. Aroma and taste are very fruity. Cherry and pear notes come to the forefront. Strong boozy punch. Slightly thin smooth palate. Ok.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20

Soapy aroma with a sharp herbal and yeasty taste, a candy like taste on the finish

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Blonde claire au col blanc léger. Arôme fruité et d’alcool. Au goût, note de caramel, d’oranges et d’épices. Rien de spécial mais se boit facilement.

abbey tripel blond in colour with a normal white foam. taste and aroma are really vinous with citric notes, alchool in the end, and too carbonated...not the best!

Op het gebied van triples niet zo heel veel bijzonders. De smaak is prima, maar niet zo diep.

330ml bottle. Herbal, spicy, yeasty aromas. Pours fizzy golden, with aerage white head, some persistance, almost no lacing. Medium body, high carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is herbal, fruity, spicy, some maty. Enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle into chalice, bottled on 1/10/2012. Pours fairly crystal clear golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with decent retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big pear, apricot, apple, grape, banana, clove, pepper, candi sugar, light honey, light bread, and phenolic yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate malt flavors; with good strength. Taste of pear, apple, apricot, light banana, candi sugar, clove, pepper, herbal, light honey, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, banana, clove, pepper, candi sugar, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and pale malt notes; with a good malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a crisp and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice Tripel. Good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and malt flavors; and surprisingly crisp sipping for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.
