Stronger and rounder, but it sadly brings out the average flavours the crispness of Everest did well to hide. Tastes a bit of rice pudding, which is fine if you’re tasting rice pudding but not so with a beer. Fosters-esque.

650ml bottle in Kathmandu. Holy skunk! Pours a clear gold with some thin, creamy, white head. Nose is fairly skunked, you could get this from a few feet away. A little cheesy, a little feety, up close you get lemon and weird cotton candy. Flavor has grass, a little pissy, lemon, some sour candies. Watery finish.

Bottle, Nepal edition. It’s a clear, golden beer topped by a dense, finger-thick white head leaving some lacings. Rather buttery aroma, fruity and with some pale malts. Sweetish, buttery and fruity flavor with some pale malts and a decent bitterness. Medium body. Nice carbonation. Lasting finish. Not too pleasant this one, but with some pleasant notes. 141219

Bottle at Great Nepalese Restaurant, Euston, London. Pours a golden colour, with a small white head. Sweet, grassy aroma. Light bodied, average carbonation, light bitterness to finish. This appears to be a UK brewed version from the same people who are (were?) UK Importer.

Duft av humle og malt. Klar lys gyllen farge. Tykt hvitt skum. Frisk litt syrlig smak.

Bottle. It was not exactly fresh, so I could fathom all those oxidised honey notes but even without them I doubt this one could be any more drinkable. At least the oxidisation combined with pale malts resulted in a smell strongly reminiscent of cheap whisky. Well, that’s at least something original. Additionally, there is some corn, cardboard and rice in here. Sweetish, ’heavyish’ for what it is. I miss the crispness that is the whole point of industrial pale lagers. Sorry, nothing worth checking out.
