Created after the hoppy ales brewed in the 1700’s for the long journey from England to Hawaii, this Ale is one of our hoppiest beers ever using 15 pounds of hops for 155 gallons of beer.

Draft in Kauai, Hawaii. Resiny pine aroma. Deep bronze color with thin off-white head and substantial lacing lacing. Grapefruit and citrus up front with pineapple notes. Long, resiny bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ the brewpub in Port Allen, Kauai, Hawaii. Cloudy gold, a little dirty looking, leaves a mess of lace around the glass. Intense fresh pineapple, passionfruit, so fresh & juicy! Lightly vegetal toward the end. Pale malts, medium sweetness. Long bitter finish. My favourite from this little brewery, and a really great IPA by any standard.

Dark amber / orange color with white head. Aroma is quite hoppy with floral and resinous notes. Flavor has some caramel malt with a lot of hoppy character - floral, grassy, resinous. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Very nice IPA.

Tap at the brewpub and from growler back at the house, 20/08/12. Lacy, tufted copper-gold diaphanous with haze. Huge mushy papaya, passion fruit aroma; pungent, hairy, perfumed leafy hop. Pineapple and grapefruit on the palate; dried pepper, stewed Earl Grey teapot dregs, slight burn, bitter husky afters uncluttered by malt. A bit Jaipur. Solid, wafting, tropical-accented IPA.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 7/14/12

Aroma: This brew has a citrus and caramel nose that is quite hoppy
Appearance: This one pours a cloudy golden orange color with a small white head
Flavor: The flavor is quite hoppy as well with a long bitterness and mild sweetness
Palate: It is medium bodied, with average carbonation, a smooth body, and a long dry finish
Overall Impression: It is pretty cool to stumble on a brand new brewpub and be the first to add and rate one of their beers. As for this beer, I thought it was a not bad, but not great IPA. Still though, I enjoyed drinking it.
