Ein starkes, helles, untergäriges Bier. Es ist weder süß noch wuchtig, sondern herb und frisch – wie das Allgäu im Frühjahr!

Bottle sampled. Pours golden with an average size white head. Aroma of caramel malts, slight fruit, and grains. The flavor is sweet, caramel, fruit, alcohol is present, but hops are not detectable. Not a bad brew.

Huge frothy head that caught me off guard! Whoa, that’s a lively one! Noble hops making their presence known in the aroma. A little corn I dare say as well? Slight nutty character and a bit of mustiness as well. Don’t know if this held up too well. Decent malt sweetness for the style and the overall use of noble hops saves this one. Ordinary.

Bottle. Sparkling gold body. Tall white froth on the surface. Nose is malty and sweet with grains, some buttery bread and grassy notes. Taste is sweet and malty with more grains, buttery bread, and grass or hay. It’s very sweet in spots and has some cereal notes as well. Body is soft but medium with moderate carbonation. Finishes with more grains, cereal, sweet malts, grass and buttered bread. Not bad.

Booming from the bottle, settling in as translucent golden rod. An icy, oil overlay comprises the head. Husky, grainy aroma strides with some corn chex, creamed wheat and sun stroked oats. Perfume and baguettes and a sweet cream plastic composure. Straight up blond bock with toasted corn husks and seven grain biscuits. Fuller bodied mouthfeel with caramel capsulation of dried out wheat stalks. Cornish oats and sweet cream integrated into buttery baguettes. Bleached flour takes it to corn bran muffins in the finish, finishing with an all out toasted display to the grain planes of yore. Thanks for the bottle, tpkenned!

My bottle says Maibock on the front. Pour is a cloudy yellow with a average white head. Aroma is caramel and fresh fruit. Like a big candy apple. Flavor is very sweet with some caramel and molasses. A big does of alcohol hits you in the end. Prob the better of the Maibock i have had today.

Thanks Joel. The beer pours to a clean golden body with a nice foamy white head. The aroma is heavy on the noble hops. Notably, Saaz. Sweet grainy corn and silage. The flavor is sweet corn, sweet milkiness, and lots of noble hops. The palate is bitter, sweet, and nicely textured.

Bottle. Poured a light pale yellow. Decent lacing. Very malty and grainy. A hearty Bock that has a great mouthfeel. Simple grain flavor but not much else going on. Good substantial beer. Nothing extraordinary though. This one’s got the basics down. I would buy again.

Bottle sampled on 12/2/06: Pours a pale clear golden with a wispy lacing white head. Aroma of sweet pale German malt with some caramel and light fruity notes. Starts sweet, fairly viscous, and German malty with some light fruity complexity for balance. A decent Heller Bock.
