COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional Bavarian dark beer still brewed with expert craftsmanship as it was in the times of the royal bavarian court. A long maturation gives this beer its pleasant, balanced taste with an extremly dry aftertaste. A must for all dark beer lovers.

Pours a deep caramel body with a modest, creamy tan head. The aroma is a tad light, but filled with dark caramel with milk chocolate. Rather thin bodied, perhaps a bit watery. Tasty, tho’ - caramel with chocolate and dark brown sugar. Just a bit too thin, and could use more carbonation.

Slightly roasted aroma. Chestnust hue, creamy lacing head. A bit bready, otherwise very much a standard dunkles.

I’m following The_Beer_God around ... had this also at Bier Garden, Portsmouth VA on 8/30/04. It’s dark brown, thinly headed. And it hits you .. Pow! Roasted brown sugar, highly alcoholed.

Had this at Bier Garden in Portsmouth VA on 8-15-04. Pours brown with splashes of red blended into it. Nice medium tan head. Aroma is nicely malted with light wheat, caramel, and faint yeast. Taste is more malt and caramel, with some mild spice. Distant fruit tastes come through as well. Mouthfeel is moderate with a balanced carbonated feel to it. Some spice coming through as well. Finish is light caramel with mild spice and yeast. Pretty good stuff!

Overall wasnt bad and not too complex. The colour was light brown with a moderate to large head that quickly goes down. Roasted malts with a mild earthy or malty flavor.

Mmm, i'm disappionted by seeing all these low ratings, i thought it was quite nice. Clear brown, some coffee and roasted malts in aroma and flavour. Dry finish.

Brown-red in color, massive white head that quickly fizzles down to nothingness. Aroma is heavy with roasted malt and dry coffee-grounds. Earthy initial flavor. Comes off rather herbally and chalky. Finish is extremely watery and unintersting. I wouldn't recommend.
