4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
(on bottle) Clear dark red/brown, small, white head. Distinct aroma, very plesant; sweet tobacco, prunes, vanilla, freshcut wood, and at least an 89% chocolate. Even some wineaspects, as in Merlot. Perkyfresh carbonation, soft dark malt taste, with more vanillapod and red peppercorns. Mellows nicely out, pure pleasure. I just love it when under(dogs)ferments, can give such a complex experience.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Sweet fruity caramel nose. Dark brown color with ruby hilites, with a beige head. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. Lots of flavor. Caramel, bread, pitted fruits, like cherry. Finish is dark, light sweet with fruit notes. Not particularly bitter at all. The fruitiness makes it very pleasant to drink.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from State Line. Pours deep coppery ruby edged with 1-finger whitish head. Aroma is big Wheaties, brown sugar, some merlot, spice, and cherry/berry hints. Rich, caramellt palate, with flavors of nuts, including walnut, hazelnut, and almond, plus more brown sugary Wheaties notes. Very nicely done.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had on 11/3/2000. Aroma reminds me of a barley wine. Color is a deep dark amber with light carbonation and head. Taste is mild and a bit sweet for how strong the aroma is. Stating with a heavy medium body that goes down with a sweet slightly rich feel. Finish is a mild sweet flavor with a light bite on the end.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Burnt orange hued brown, moderate foamy off-white head, decent lacing.   Whole wheat on the nose, bready, biscuity, slightly doughy.   Heavy breadiness on the tongue.   Picking up quite a bit of apple skin as well.   Moderate sweetness, some roasted malt qualities towards the end.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Yeah, seems to pick up more apple skin as it warms up.   Decent example, albeit perhaps a bit lighter than others.
