3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught in Germany, near the brewery
Cloudy deep blond color; compact head. Quite nice aroma: sweet, bread, biscuits, light spices. The mouthfeel is correct, the flavor is mild but balanced, with some wheat and nice banana; the bitterness is low. It can be pleasant.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
7/10/9/9/10/9

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
It’s unclear golden with a creamy, white, huge head. The aroma is mild with notes of wheat, banana and light yeast. The flavour is sweet with mild/weak notes of banana, wheat, yeast, light citrus and peach. If it was fuller and more powerful, it would be much better.

Bottle: Very fruity aroma with intensive notes of banana. Hazy yellow color. Flavor is wheaty/grainy, also fruity, some spices and a light astringent finish. Very nice, intensive banana aroma but not very complex taste.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2010 Bottle. Smells like a Rowntree’s lemon and lime jelly sprinkled with clove: beautiful, but so highly carbonated it’s making me cough- bonus point. Would look like a lager were it not for the torrential carbonation, dustiness, foggy orange, piled whip of suds. Unmistakably nothing like a lager, then (forgot about the bits). Flavour-wise, just about everything I love about German wheat beers; banana candy, spritz, clove, lemon sherbet, finishing biscuit., plus some dusty ground coriander (impressions), and parsley/dill-like components of a witbier/blond trying to be perfumed and discreetly hoppy. Just a brilliant, clean, summery, uncomplicated beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
0.5 l bottle. Hazy yellow brown color. Thick spicy and ripe banana aroma. Firm peppery and clovey flavor with ripe banana and bread. Typical but surprinsingly firm and balanced weizen character. Full bodied, slightly oily and somewhat gassy palate. Well made.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of MoritzF. It pours a murky pale golden beer with a tall, nicely lasting white head. Surprisingly pale- similar to a belgian wit. Inviting, delicate, slightly grainy aroma of cloves, vanilla and faint aroma hops. Light bodied, refreshing and balanced with a touch of sourness. Good pale malt profile. Subtle fruity components. Low bitterness. Nice carbonation. Very drinkable. Mediocre lacework. Surprisingly little residual sugars in the finish (which I like) that is reminiscent of vanilla and cloves. A german hefeweizen with plenty of character. Very pleasant. Thanks a lot MoritzF!
