Tipsy_McStager (818), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 2, 2008 no discernable chocolate in the aroma. Kind of salty, light malt. Pours a clear ruby brown, thin head. Body is thin. Some chocolate comes through on the finish, but it is suprisingly light.

Light moka coffee with light vegetable notes. In mouth, a light porter with faint chocolate, rather light in mouth. Non-descript. Bottle tasted April 2008, probably 2 years old. Bottle from Capflu. glkaiser (905), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 3, 2008 On tap at the Bulldawg at Silver Star Ski resort. Bartender said it was the Double Black stout from Whistler Brewing, but I couldn’t find this.
Black with big, off-white head. Aroma of light roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is slightly bitter smooth chocolate. Very dry finish. Solid beer to enjoy in the sun after a day of skiing. DuffMan (1915), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 27, 2008 Clear deep brown with a moderate cream coloured head. Chocolate is very apparent in the aroma, along with faint toast and caramel. Semi-sweet palate of mild chocolate and caramel malt, husky and grainy, light stemmy bitterness. Finish is surprisingly dry. Mouthfeel is on the thin side, but not so much as to detract from this beer’s overall appeal. I actually quite liked this, contrary to many raters who precede me. pintbypint (879), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Mar 11, 2008 650ml brown bottle. Pours medium coffee brown with a fair sized rocky light tan head. Aroma is a bit nutty, light but noticable chocolate malt. Flavour has some modest cocoa/chcolate notes. Very liight malt in the finish, dry. Body is light, as is carbonation. Overall a little disappointing, too restrained, needs more body and distinct flavours.
