COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Resignation Recipe Brewed In Collaboration with Redhook. A toast lager with notes of chocolate and coffee. Unlike a heavy porter or a stout it’s amazingly light, crispy, and sessionable. KCCO Black is a delicious misfit.

This is pretty nice. A good roast flavor with just a hint of coffee but more of chocolate. Certainly has a thickish body but a nice overall flavor and mouthfeel.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear dark brew with tan head - very cola like in appearance. Aroma of mild toasted grain. Taste is simple and plain - light lagerish flavor with the addition of toast and a few toasted grain notes.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2014 Served: 12 oz bottle Look: pours a dark brown almost black with a small tan head that doesn't hang around at all. Smell: smell licorice and malt flavors Taste: taste heavy malting. Not vey sweet. Hints of coffee in the after taste. Smoke flavor as it warms up. Feel: doesn't feel as dark as it looks. Good carbination. Not very thick for a dark beer. Overall: Not as heavy as the name sounds. Light and crisp flavor. Not a bad beer for winter, makes you feel warm inside. First Drank: Mom & Dad's XMAS 2013

The appearance was a dark brown color, half finger white to almost off white foamy and bubbly looking head that once it dies. There is some light somewhat spider webbed lacing. The smell was a slightly roasty with some malts and coffee. The taste was roasty and sweet through the coffee and malts; light coffee/chocolate aftertaste; dry watery finish. On the palate, it sits fairly light on the palate, has a smooth carbonation to it like a good Schwarzbier should. Overall, it seems like the style was hit square on, but its a Schwarzbier and often super hard to make extremely desirable. I’ll be able to finish off the 6 pack, but stand on the fence if I would buy it again.

This is a great session beer. The flavor gives me a lot of the porter/stout flavor without the heaviness.
