A Resignation Recipe Brewed In Collaboration with Redhook. A toast lager with notes of chocolate and coffee. Unlike a heavy porter or a stout it’s amazingly light, crispy, and sessionable. KCCO Black is a delicious misfit.

Bottle from a swap. Black pour, thick beige head. Aroma is malt and caramel. A little sweet, no bitter, finish slightly sour. Taste - there isn’t any - the malt and caramel in the aroma are watered down. Very bland and boring.

Thanks to iNBe. A strong roasted coffee flavor and soft malt but then kind of thin after that. More dark brown than black. And apparently the beer for people who like websites featuring funny pictures and/or women in their underwear. Serving: bottle

KCCO black originally imported from knoxville TN. Black is a medium red brown clear liquid with a fine head of tiny white bubbles. nose is sweet malt with just a hint of molasses. Taste is a crisp blend of some medium roasted malt, restrained hops and a little sweetness. body is thin though and the finish is short. a bit disappointing overall. i was expecting more body and depth of taste.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear, dark brown with minimal head. The aroma has a soft roasted malt note, sweet caramel maltiness. The flavor is more bready then I would have thought, slight chocolate/roast malt note. Nice beer.

There is a note that says 11:08 2 MAY 14 14 (bottled on 14 May 2014?) Appearance: It is an extremely dark brown body that gives way to rich red and brown mohogony colors as light shines through it. The head is a fluffy off-white color that doesn’t leave lacing on the glass; it fizzes away. Aroma: I notice quite a bit of acrid metallic scent right off the bat. There is a dark roasted coffee scent that comes in afterwards. Despite the harshness on the nose it is still quite pleasant given the aroma of what might be a rich espresso. Taste: Fantastic lightly roasted coffee, if a bit too watered down, coupled with a hint of fruit on the back that reminds me again of rich coffee. I might say it too much but it is very reminiscent. There is a hint of smokiness at the end that fades very quickly but not before it can be noticed. Palate: While the palate is quite light and enjoyable, it might err in the side of being too light. Everything else including the extremely light bitterness and supremely mellow carbonation are just right. Overall: This is just what I would want from a Schwarzbier. Just enough roasted flavor and light bitterness to elevate it without going over-the-top. I would recommend it to those who enjoy Schwarzbier, or even to those who are not acquainted with the style but prefer lightly roasted flavors. I would buy it again.

Dark brown colored pour. Big light khaki head. Plenty of lacing. Big malty and roasted grain nose. Some chocolate notes. Fruity and malty flavor. Finish is sweet yet dry.

Pours the deepest mahogany into the glass, with an eggshell soapy head that leaves foamy lacing. The nose is of grains and silage. Flavors of light coffee essence, nice chocolate hues and grains finish with a lightly toasted element. Very sessionable, it’s a sweeter Schwarz, but goes down extremely easy. The body is light and the palate malty, round and substantive. Very decent, in my humble opinion.

Pours out to a generous beige head that laces well and very deep brownish black color. Aroma is slightly nutty, coffee-like malt with a good dose of Munich and pilsner malts, much like a Dunkel. Flavor is a blend of sharp roasted grains, sweet decocted malts and a touch of noble hops. Mouthfeel is medium-light and refreshing. Overall a good call.

Pours a dark amber color with an of white head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel. Thin mouthfeel notes of caramel and chocolate, with a malty aftertaste. Not bad for a "novelty" beer.

Bottle at BW3 Pewaukee. Coffee and chocolate notes. Nothing special - a little watery.
