2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light indeed, but sessionable only if one considers a black lager to need the IBU dose of an IPA. (Standard American microbrew, adulterating a European style with unnecessary hoppiness). But much worthwhile in aroma, relatively smooth palate and rich toasted notes as well, if watered/then hopped over

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a very dark brown, almost black, beer with a small head. Iíd call this a beer that is a good intro dark brews. Not too complex...actually kinda up my alley. Anyway, easy to drink and something you could serve to any of your friends.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours dark mahogany with a thin off white head. Aroma is grainy, like the smell of an empty grain bin. Taste is bad. Itís got barley, malt, and grains in the mouth. Itís not a pleasant taste, but it is beer...thatís got to count for something right? I havenít liked much black lager and this is another one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours translucent cola brown with a frothy gray-tan head. Aroma has a strong note of raw barley with hay and woody hop side-tones. Malty flavor has a burnt undertone and hints of hay, woody hops, and coffee. Texture lacks fizz and firmness, but goes down well. Resign and get hooked.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pretty dark from the bottle. Has a gentile aroma. First taste is fairly mild, just the way I like my dark beers. Yes, more like a dark lager fer sure. Easy fun and enjoyable. I like this, its mild and well behaved. Never in yer face. I wouldnít hesitate to buy and drink a sixer of this. Should have purchased a few more of these. Thank you Resignation for such a like able beer. Good example of a what a friendly dark beer should be.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle dated May 2014.
Poured near black but clear reddish-brown, topped by a very good tan head that leaves nice lacing.
Aroma: a bit dank, vegetal and hop dominated -- clearly off style.
Flavor: better and truer to style, but lacks the level of dark roasted grain expected.
Feel: a bit thin even for style.
O: OK, excepting aroma, but a notch below average overall.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark brown with a full beige rim head, dots and sheets of lace. Taste is mild toasted malt with a very light hint of coffee. Taste moves through the palate without change on the way to a slightly bittered finish. An underwhelming brew.
