Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a hop and garden aroma.
Appearance- A dark brown to black color with a nice sized light brown head.
Taste- Has a nice hop flavor.
Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation.
Overall- First beer from Resignation Brewery and it wasn’t bad. I would drink this again and search for other styles from this brewer.

Bottle at recent beer festival. Pours brown with a white head. Nose is some ash, some earth, big yeast, and some light black coffee. Flavor is similar- ash, black coffee, earth, and yeast. Light in body and pretty forgettable overall.

Nice flavor with dark brown color has smooth mellow taste with no significant bitterness. Reminds me of Tusker a Kenyan lager common in East African bars. Overall a nice Black Lager despite the low rating.

Aan de geur is iets vreemds aan. Maar dat is niet terug te vinden in de smaak. De smaak is redelijk flets. Zeker niet slecht, maar er zit niet veel bijzonders aan de smaak.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appealing purple color, garnet tinted brown kinda. Smallish head. Fairly accurate and typical schwarzbier, light chocolate/coffee nose, faint caramel-malt sweet smell. Flavor is semi-dry, with that nice dry cocoa finish, light nuttiness and a bit of cereal grain. No roast.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Better than its gimmickyness would suggest, but still very middle of the road. Pours dark brown with thin head. Nose is dry stout like with mild vanilla and butterscotch. Flavor is one dimensional but not bad - some instant coffee and bittersweet baking chocolate. I got at 9.99/24 bottles closeout a few months after I saw it debut at 8.99/6 pack. I think the price I got is a little closer to the right price than the SRP.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Picked up a 12oz bottle at Fresh Thyme Market in Cincinnati, Ohio. Pours a translucent, dark rootbeer color, with a thin head. A faint aroma of sweet coffee. Flavors also of roasty coffee and sweet, diet-cola-like notes...aftertaste is light and smoky, with savory undertones that remind me of bacon. Body seems pretty light (as you would expect from a dark lager), with fizzy carbonation. This is not amazing, but not bad either. Drinkable and fairly interesting.

Gifted to me by my friend John Brockhaus - This is a fine, grainy schwarznier with an upfront burnt caramel prescence. I like this brew, and I thank my Cincinnati pal John for gifting it to me!
