A clean and crisp lager with notes of honey and biscuit. The grain bill adds a beautiful gold hue and full flavor. The Gold Lager proves pilsner style lagers can be full flavored.

Feel kind of embarrassed to be drinking these (strictly marketing). Bottle (FEB 12 15). Nose is lightly citric, sweet pale malt with just a touch of toasty/Vienna/grain/even bread crust, but stronger is the slick and very sweet fruitiness usually found in BMC and malt liquor. Pours rich, clear golden with moderate carbonation and a sudsy bright white head. Crisp and smooth, malty, very low bitterness, medium sweetness but not cloying, honeyish, a nice bready and even lightly biscuity finish, touch spicy, but that malt liquor sweetness/fruitiness remains and dominates. Smooth overall and malty but a little too boozy and thereís no way Iím having two or three of these (thinking of tomorrow morning) even though, not so deep down, I kinda like it.

Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market, 12 oz bottle. Sparkling medium gold pour, light bubbly white head that fades quickly. Aroma has some light malty accents, a hint of nuttiness. Pleasant flavor, some grainy notes, a touch of light honey. Mouthfeel has a decent crispness to it. Fair.

Pours clear light golden with a small white head, some light lacing. Aroma is malty, yeast, honey and bisquity. Taste is sweet, straw, grainy, honey and bready
Drinkable, but too sweet to be refreshing

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured golden, clear, minimal white head and no lacing, no retention. Aroma, fruity, grainy and malty a bit faint. Taste is actually better that aroma, and is not bad at all; malty, sweet and bready taste, a bit of an sticky finish. Again, not bad... Chive On...!!!

Pours clear golden with a tick pale buff head. Aroma is not strong, but malty and a little fruity, inviting a taste. Flavor exceeds the promise of the wan aroma, malty and fruity with hoppy hints. Mouthfeel has decent thickness ad fizz. If you see this listed, ask for it!

Single bottle, dated Jan. 25. Pours a brassy gold color under a foamy head, a little bolder t lest than the average pale lager. Has that basic "beer smell," a bit of malt, a bit of salt, maybe a bit of corn. Taste is kind of okay. The adjunct I thought I smelled is not evident on the palate, so Iíll guess all-grain. A light toast to the malt. I can see this as a cold lawnmower beer on a hot day. But with the cachet itís trying to build for itself, I donít see why it should strive to be soÖ pedestrian.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark golden color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose has a mix of corn and a bit of wheat to it. Taste is slightly sweet and a bit bready. Not really all that appealing.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Clear golden, thin fizzy white head. Poor retention. Aroma of grainy, biscuit malt, honey, floral hops, almost grassy but not quite. The taste is floral hops, honey, biscuit malt. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering tartness.

Clear golden brew with a decent head and lots of bubbles. Smells of typical lager grains but the taste is a strong barley with a touch of honey in the background. Thicker than most lagers without over doing it. Really good lager and for a reasonable price. Plan to pick up more of this one.
