COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A clean and crisp lager with notes of honey and biscuit. The grain bill adds a beautiful gold hue and full flavor. The Gold Lager proves pilsner style lagers can be full flavored.

5/25/15. 12oz bottle from Warehouse. Clear darker golden pour with a small off-white head, minimal lacing. Sweet malty aroma, doughy, wet straw, a bit of fruity apples. Sweeter taste than expected, flavors of raw dough, wet straw, grassy, fruity. Meh.

Thanks, Marshall Hutcheson, for bringing this back from Arizona --- Slightly hazy golden amber, foamy white head, thick sheet of lace. Taste is light malt that is joined midway by toffee and carbonation. Light bittering joins early in the finish to close things nicely. A very nice, light brew.

Aroma is pale malts, light fruit and vegetables. The flavor is pale malts, fruit, mildly sweet and a mix of beery and slightly dry in the finish.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours translucent gold with a slight white head. Aroma is mildly bready; perhaps a hint of noble hop. Med body or so. Flavor starts with something like apricot, moves to bready, and there’s some slightly ? hop. Doesn’t seem noble; more fruity. It is crisp and decently bitter. Perhaps a bit sweet. All in all quite drinkable at the lake.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 5/14/15

Aroma: The nose is fairly muted, some light pale malts, grains, a little biscuit, and caramel notes
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear golden-orange color with an off white head and medium lace
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, malty, a little dull, lightly sweet, and lightly bitter
Palate: The mouthfeel is a little fizzy, lighter bodied, with a fairly short duration
Overall Impression: This is pretty much the definition of an okay beer for me. It isn’t really bad or good, just dull and unexciting.

Growler - Honey colored with a good white head when I poured it out of the growler. Grassy smell to it. First taste reminds me of jalapeños, sound weird I know. A few sips later and this is still the most pronounced tasted. I do get hints of grain and some floral tastes but hard to get past the jalapeños.

Pours a clear golden color with white head. Not bad, but has a somewhat strange aftertaste.

Feel kind of embarrassed to be drinking these (strictly marketing). Bottle (FEB 12 15). Nose is lightly citric, sweet pale malt with just a touch of toasty/Vienna/grain/even bread crust, but stronger is the slick and very sweet fruitiness usually found in BMC and malt liquor. Pours rich, clear golden with moderate carbonation and a sudsy bright white head. Crisp and smooth, malty, very low bitterness, medium sweetness but not cloying, honeyish, a nice bready and even lightly biscuity finish, touch spicy, but that malt liquor sweetness/fruitiness remains and dominates. Smooth overall and malty but a little too boozy and there’s no way I’m having two or three of these (thinking of tomorrow morning) even though, not so deep down, I kinda like it.

Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market, 12 oz bottle. Sparkling medium gold pour, light bubbly white head that fades quickly. Aroma has some light malty accents, a hint of nuttiness. Pleasant flavor, some grainy notes, a touch of light honey. Mouthfeel has a decent crispness to it. Fair.

Bottle from the state store
Pours clear light golden with a small white head, some light lacing. Aroma is malty, yeast, honey and bisquity. Taste is sweet, straw, grainy, honey and bready
Drinkable, but too sweet to be refreshing
