Hurricane Kitty is a coppery and heavily hopped India Pale Ale. Named after brewmaster Keeganís grandmother whoís driving earned her quite a reputation racing her six children to and from a local Long Island beach ferry during the 1960ís, Hurricane Kitty is the undisputed family favorite. We try to make the hop bill read as aggressively as her driving record.

Tap in the Ginger Man, NYC with Paul. Mid amber coloured beer. More malt than some IPAs over here, then long dry bitter finish. Hop flavour here is mostly earthy, a little tiny bit of grapefruit and perhaps a touch metallic. Drinks well. Not bad.

12 oz bottle. Got this is a beer of the month club. Pours a light effervescent copper color with a small thin off-white head. Smells of light citrus, malt, hops, maybe some dried fruits, and what I think is a metallic smell (though I hope not). Taste is some dried fruit, over-powering (unbalanced amount of) hops, and that same metallic taste on the after-taste. Funky flavors, not really what I consider an IPA to be. Had much better IPAs.

A - Pours copper, half a fingers-worth of white head, some spotty lacing and a thin ring around the glass remains. Some whisps here and there on top. S - Citrus, nice malt notes, slight bitterness. Not exactly sure how old this bottle is, but itís lost some hops, thatís for sure. T - Grapefruits first and foremost, some citrus hops, slight bitterness, subtle malt character. Really nice mix of hops and malts. Not sure if this is old or not, but itís pretty darn good. M - Light, good carbonation for the style, crisp and refreshing, oily finish. D - Great IPA, smooth and mellow

Hurricane Kitty pours a nice amber/copper color and has a good head with decent lacing. There is a malt element present, but it is dominated by strong citrus/floral/pine hops. The combination of all of the elements in play make this an outstandingly refreshing IPA that goes down well and invites the drinker to have another.

Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness and orange zest. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness and light grapefruit with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

Tasted at NYC Craft Beer Festival. Overly sweet, citrus hop profile, hot alcohol. Need to revisit.

on tap poured into a pint glass at their brewhouse a: amber color, light head with fair retention s: slight caramized malt sweetness, slight pine and citrus hint t: slightly more sweet than most IPAs, did have a bite of citrus and pine bitterness. Bottle. poured amber with an off-white head that settled to a ring and left light lace. Aroma of citrus and caramel. The flavor found caramel and floral with a light backing of citrus. Light to medium body and a mild bitterness throughout.
