Hurricane Kitty is a coppery and heavily hopped India Pale Ale. Named after brewmaster Keeganís grandmother whoís driving earned her quite a reputation racing her six children to and from a local Long Island beach ferry during the 1960ís, Hurricane Kitty is the undisputed family favorite. We try to make the hop bill read as aggressively as her driving record.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Darien, CT. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized fizzy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of caramel and toffee with herbal, minty hops and a bit of melon. The taste is caramel malts, floral hops, and a bit of toastiness. Mildly lingering bitterness, medium bodied. Decent.

Pours a hazy orange pour. Nose is caramel, hints of vanilla and hoppy. Taste is sweet citrus with some moderate bitterness. Finish is dry, and bitter with soft carbonation. An average IPA. Quaff Score 6 / 10

Pours deep amber into a shaker. White head recedes leaving spot lacing. Sour caramel aromas. Sour bitter apple pith and caramel. Not very well balanced.

12 oz. bottle. Clear honey golden with a big off white head that has good retention. A nice aroma of pine and caramel. A bit of breadiness. There are pine and citrus flavors with some herbal notes. Caramel adds sweetness. Some bready yeast is tasted. There is a dry bitterness. This is different.

Weird. Pours red and thin head. Yet a thick beer. Bitter and malty taste. Seems kinda strong. Not very good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear copper-amber pour with a medium white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, earthy malt and fruit. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, malt and a bit of grapefruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Tap in the Ginger Man, NYC with Paul. Mid amber coloured beer. More malt than some IPAs over here, then long dry bitter finish. Hop flavour here is mostly earthy, a little tiny bit of grapefruit and perhaps a touch metallic. Drinks well. Not bad.

12 oz bottle. Got this is a beer of the month club. Pours a light effervescent copper color with a small thin off-white head. Smells of light citrus, malt, hops, maybe some dried fruits, and what I think is a metallic smell (though I hope not). Taste is some dried fruit, over-powering (unbalanced amount of) hops, and that same metallic taste on the after-taste. Funky flavors, not really what I consider an IPA to be. Had much better IPAs.

A - Pours copper, half a fingers-worth of white head, some spotty lacing and a thin ring around the glass remains. Some whisps here and there on top. S - Citrus, nice malt notes, slight bitterness. Not exactly sure how old this bottle is, but itís lost some hops, thatís for sure. T - Grapefruits first and foremost, some citrus hops, slight bitterness, subtle malt character. Really nice mix of hops and malts. Not sure if this is old or not, but itís pretty darn good. M - Light, good carbonation for the style, crisp and refreshing, oily finish. D - Great IPA, smooth and mellow
