Hurricane Kitty is a coppery and heavily hopped India Pale Ale. Named after brewmaster Keegan’s grandmother who’s driving earned her quite a reputation racing her six children to and from a local Long Island beach ferry during the 1960’s, Hurricane Kitty is the undisputed family favorite. We try to make the hop bill read as aggressively as her driving record.

12oz bottle from Half Time. Pours hazy copper with off-white head. Aromas of hops, oranges, and sweet caramel malts. Flavors of sweet caramel malts, some pine, light citrus, and fair amount of hops. Tastes somewhat fresh. Good amount of sweet malts for an IPA. Decent.

No too bad for an ipa, not too bitter, nice color but surprised with the sediment, nice caramel color

Dark mahogany medium bodied IPA with generous malt and bitterness. Hop bitterness has a peppery spice to it. A throwback of an IPA.

355 ml bottle. Pours a dark copper colour with a small white head. Aroma is citrus, bread. Taste is same, plus caramel and some maple. Doesn’t really feel like an IPA...

Draft at Bacchus. Pretty average IPA. Plenty of bitterness on the palate. A bit of vegetal, caramel, and tea flavor. Aroma is nothing special for an IPA.

Pours a clear copper color with a creamy white head. Aroma of caramel, bread, and citrus. Thick body with caramel and bread flavor upfront with citrus and pine. Decent beer.

Bottle into glass, Mohonk tasting. Copper with bit if red, lingering creamy red head. Warm malt aroma with a touch of hops, reminiscent of a red ale. Warm malt in the mouth with an IPA hop hit, fairly piny and a bit sticky. Finishes with more pine and stick. A bit of a stylistic mashup.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured dark copper, clear, nice off white head. Aroma is mostly caramel malts, some citrus notes and some floral notes. Taste is also sweet and malty but with a nice balance from hops. Nice IPA, quite drinkable.

Pours a hazy copper color with a thin white head which disappears quickly.....aroma of sweet bread......taste is heavy bread, pine, plum, finishing with mellow bitterness. Tastes as if all the residual sugars didn’t get fermented leaving it with a heavy mouthfeel of a much larger brew.

Tap at Lucky well. Amber thin head. Caramel nose. Green hop flavor, a bit astringent, some malt. A bit cloying.

Bready malty aroma. Has a roasted malt aroma and flavor. There seems to be a residual yeast feel and a slight malt extract feel. Bitter finish. Ops balance well but a bit to bitter in the finish. Feels heavy but not that thick of a palate. Drinkable descent ipa, but nothing special. Prefer other keegan stuff much more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
