Served cold from tap at Ginger Man, NYC. Good toasted malt aroma with chocolate and coffee notes. Flavor matches that, but not as rich as I would have liked. Oh well. pantanap (1341), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Aroma of roast and bitter tart chocolate notes...Flavors of soft roast and a touch of lacto sourness at the very end. Very light on carbonation and pretty thin body. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 29, 2009 Bottled. Poured clear medium brown with a short, well-retained cap of tan head. The aroma picked up sweet, milky chocolates, a pinch of honey, and toasted black patent malts accented by light earth.. more honey and milky sweetness as it warmed up. The flavor opened with sweet milky sugars, chocolate, and more black patent malt on the front, with a blend of rather generic dark malts at the core (kinda buttery).. finished with slightly tart milky chocolates, a little vanilla, and more black malt. Medium-bodied, sweet, and well-carbonated on the palate.. a little too buttery, but it kept a decent feel. Lots of solid components resulting in a decent beer. scubasteev (4), Albany, New York, USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Keegan Ales are simply amazing. Had a chance to visit the brewery this summer with some friends. Had a wonderful time. The addition of Joe Mama’s Milk has been a big success! I know they won some awards at TAP New York also. They deserve all the accolades they get! Best brewery in New York hands down! glennmastrange (846), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt aroma of toasted, resin for the hops, light leather for the yeast, with background notes of charcoal and cola. Head is small, fizzy, light brown with some thin lacing but good legs and is fully diminishing. Color is dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and finishes moderately acidic and bitter Palate is light to medium, watery with a fizzy carbonation and a dry finish. Missing some of the sweetness that’s supposed to be in a Sweet Stout, but I still liked it as an an easy drinking beer. CUJO (346), Brooklyn, New York, USA

I got all the different flavors, textures that I was expecting and there is nothing offensive about the beer... just didn’t thrill me! zdk (215), New York, USA
