Commercial Description:
Mother’s Milk, as the name implies, is a dark and creamy milk stout. Hints of oatmeal, chocolate and of course, milk make Mother’s Milk’s remarkably smooth and silky finish a classic example of the style.

12oz bottle. Very dark black. dark tan head. very nice lacing. aroma is very sweet. bittersweet chocolate., malt. even some licorice. Texture is slightly creamy. Heavy bodied. flavor is of bitter hops, bitter coffee beans. hint of alcohol. The carbonation is just right. This is a deep beer and is still very balanced. Lots of malt, sharp bitter finish. No sour milk anywhere! Awesome beer. And I do love a heavy bodied, bitter finishing stout.

Pours black and opaque with a 1/4 inch light brown thick head. Smells of currants, roasted malt, and chocolate. tastes of thiick chocolate, caramel, coffee, and raisins. Aftertaste has a strong bite which is not displeasing in any way! Great beer from a great brewer!

355 ml bottle. Pitch black with some copper hues. Sweet roasted malt aroma. Smooth texture. Quite sweet, but the dark malts balance the other malts quite well. Soft aftertaste with rounded powdery dark flavours.

I thought this was an excellent version of a stout. It pours midnight black and gives subtle hints of the chocolate on the nose. The mouthfeel shows some nice density and smoothness and thre are some coffee notes there as well.

Bottle, poured dark brown, thin creamy head. Chocolate, ripe berries, coffee on the aroma. Flavor is thick, creamy, chocolate/coffee. Smooth maltiness rounds it all out. Delicious stout, impressive.

Deep dark brown coloured body, about 90% opaque with a small tan head. Aroma of metal, cherries, prunes, apples, roasted malt and a tiny bit of coffee - more fruity than roasty. Medium to Light-bodied; Super sweet flavour of caster sugar, milk (lactic qualities here, definitely), prunes, plums, raisins and some smoke. Aftertaste more reminiscent of a sweet beer - fruit and caramel are the key players in the palate. Overall, definitely a nice one - perhaps one of the better sweet stouts i’ve ever had. Get this one if you can find it - you won’t be dissapointed. I found my twelve ounce bottle, which I purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 13-April-2007.

Small brown head, mediocre retention. Black body, somewhat opaque, ruby tinges. Aroma is sweet malts, both roasty and chocolatey, light coffee, oatmeal, mild vanilla. A pleasant enough nose, if not timid in its expression. Flavor is more chocolate and light, sweet roast, very lightly acidic. Lactic acid is noticeable and appropriately dispersed. Finishes bittersweet, thin and brief, mild roast lingering. Palate is creamy, light-medium to medium bodied. This is a very drinkable beer, nicely done; very reserved and placating. No doubt a wonderful addition to a long session.
