3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle). Pours a brown-black complexion with quickly dissipating head. Well roasted malt flavor. Decent palate. Not bad but not a stand out amongst the class. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Helmers' in Hoboken, NJ. Poured into a narrow pils mug.
Dark brown pour with a fine tan head. Lacing is pretty decent
Nose is chocolate and roast coffee.
Flavor is roasty, coffee, chocolate with a lactose sugary finish. No hop character. The finish starts sweet but ends surprisingly dry.
A little thin on the mouthfeel, but not bad.
A decent example of the style from a brewery I'd not tried before.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Various kegs and bottles. Pours jet black with nice brown head. Aromas of chocolate, light coffee, sweet vanilla, and a lactic twang. The flavor is super smooth and full. Chocolate, roasted malts, and a sweet finish make this one a winner. Not super filling like some stouts can be, but just perfect.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A dark brown appearance with some carbonation. Strong coffer and some chocolate aroma. A balance of coffee and beer flavor that ends on the coffee side.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle from Jtclockwork. Thanks. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head that soon recedes to a fine film. The aroma is roasted grains, blackened barley and burnt toast. The taste, like the aroma, features roasted grains, dark chocolate, and earthy bitter walnuts. The palate is medium and silky smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes long and dry. Overall: Very tasty stout.

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Nice and drinkable. Very sweet but still maintains some roasty notes.

Great stout! I get oatmeal, milk, bread, and nuts. This is a malt-forward stout. Hops don’t really shine, here- and I like it that way. This is good drinking.

Toast and coffee, a good breakfast beer. Dark black, with no speakable head. Light chocolate, some tea flavor. Ginger? Light feel. A good beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Rating #70 for 2012. 7/1/12, 12 oz bottle cold from a tulip glass. Warm aroma of cinnamon and sugar like a freshly baked scone. Opaque nearly black liquid with a 1 inch tan head that quickly fades and leaves tightly bubbled lacing. Taste was sweet and creamy, a well balanced common stout. Palate, starts with a high carbonation mellows to medium as it warms, finishes thin.
