I honestly thought this was more of a porter. It smelled more like coffee then anything. It was light and sweet and had a roasted finish. Creamy cappuccino and roasted malts also come through in the taste. Aroma has some lactic sweetness, chocolate and fruit. Flavor is creamy and starts a bit sweet and then finshes with a bit of tartness. chocolate flavor is prominent throughout the beer. Not bad. Mild chocolate throughout. Dry watery finish. Decent amount of roastiness. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Apr 10, 2009 Medium brown. No real head. The nose is fairly chocolatey, a bit fudgey. Pretty straightforward chocolatey character. The sweetness comes out as it warms.
