3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark as night with a brown head. Somewhat malty chocolate flavor and aroma. As the deScription says it is a very good representation of the style. If you like this also try Sam Adams Cream Stout.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: SEP 22, 2007 Bottle from Goldtwins. Thanks!
Pours an average nut-brown with an aroma of chocolate and hazelnut. Thin mouthfeel. Tastes of expired chocolate milk... Too much heat in transition? Dunno.

"rich, somewhat sweet taste. nicely roasted. Reallyliked this one. I would say it is in the wrong category- this should be under "sweet stouts", although it is not too sweet. Just sweet enough to balance out the bitterness. real good balance. very smooth and not too heavy. everything is just right here."

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour an opaque black with a tan head that fades slowly to a solid cap with good lacing. The aroma is a bit sour. Nose is of roasted malt, burnt coffee, licorice, milk chocolate, oatmeal and cardamom. Nice creamy, yet slightly tingly mouthfeel. Sweet, milky, malty flavour with notes of coffee and bittersweet cocoa and hop finish. The sourness is apparent in the taste too. Good drying, heavy body gives the brew great palate duration.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Black pour almond head. Aromais subtle chocolate. Flavor is chocolate, with a chalky aftertaste. Kinda sour bite to it. Roasted malts, really this is a DMS ridden stout. Creamy, milky but still a sour bite. Maybe I got a bad bottle.

a very pleasant surprise! no one here in the western US has ever heard of this stuff, but I found it at a local beer distributor in Westchester, NY and my wife and I agree that Mothers Milk is one of the best milk stouts brewed in America!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is of chocolate and coffee. The Appearance is the typical black, tan head. The flavor has the usual stout maltiness, with chocolate and a VERY strong coffee taste. Very appealing, not as sweet as say an imperial stout. Finish is a little short, but clean. Little bit of roatiness left on the palate. Thick mouthfeel. Very good overall.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a very dark black hue, tan head great lacing. Aroma was a mix of chocolate ,oatmeal, and a subtle hop presence. Flavor was very malty, a nice sweet chocolate taste at first, but it was mixed with a slight coffee presence. Very thick, and rich.a smooth presence like half&half.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
12oz bottle. Very dark black. dark tan head. very nice lacing. aroma is very sweet. bittersweet chocolate., malt. even some licorice. Texture is slightly creamy. Heavy bodied. flavor is of bitter hops, bitter coffee beans. hint of alcohol. The carbonation is just right. This is a deep beer and is still very balanced. Lots of malt, sharp bitter finish. No sour milk anywhere! Awesome beer. And I do love a heavy bodied, bitter finishing stout.
