COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Motherís Milk, as the name implies, is a dark and creamy milk stout. Hints of oatmeal, chocolate and of course, milk make Motherís Milkís remarkably smooth and silky finish a classic example of the style.

Deep dark brown coloured body, about 90% opaque with a small tan head. Aroma of metal, cherries, prunes, apples, roasted malt and a tiny bit of coffee - more fruity than roasty. Medium to Light-bodied; Super sweet flavour of caster sugar, milk (lactic qualities here, definitely), prunes, plums, raisins and some smoke. Aftertaste more reminiscent of a sweet beer - fruit and caramel are the key players in the palate. Overall, definitely a nice one - perhaps one of the better sweet stouts iíve ever had. Get this one if you can find it - you wonít be dissapointed. I found my twelve ounce bottle, which I purchased from Oliverís Beverage in Albany, New York on 13-April-2007.

Small brown head, mediocre retention. Black body, somewhat opaque, ruby tinges. Aroma is sweet malts, both roasty and chocolatey, light coffee, oatmeal, mild vanilla. A pleasant enough nose, if not timid in its expression. Flavor is more chocolate and light, sweet roast, very lightly acidic. Lactic acid is noticeable and appropriately dispersed. Finishes bittersweet, thin and brief, mild roast lingering. Palate is creamy, light-medium to medium bodied. This is a very drinkable beer, nicely done; very reserved and placating. No doubt a wonderful addition to a long session.

golden head (whatever that does) black beer. caramel and cocoa hints. thin and yes astringent. not bad, not real good. decent body and as good as guiness.

sloth (2605) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - MAR 28, 2007
small light brown head, fair retention with a thin band of stringy lace. Black brew with some ruby hues around the edges. Nose is lightly sour, lacto? But with the same metallic notes as the IPA. Body is medium, sorta thin, lightly astringent, lightly creamy. Light roast flavors with notes of bandaid and caramel malts. Finish is dry and luckily not as astringent as the IPA. Some kinda house funk going on or maybe some old product? Received in trade with coldbrewky.

Bottle... poured a deep black with a nice red highlight at the bottom of the glass, nice light brown head that lasted. Bitter, dark chocolate aroma that was very prominent. When you sip thereís initially strong chocolate flavors that are soon followed by coffee and malt. Itís very smooth and has nice soothing finish. I really enjoyed this one a lot, I donít know if was how I was feeling at the time or not, but this stout was awesome!

Courtesy of Coldbrewky. This is my very first Milk Stout, so I had absolutely no idea what it would be like. The color is black/brown, the head is golden, creamy and nice. The aroma has a slight milky sourness and so does the flavour, but itís not unpleasant and doesnít feel like an infected beer. I also get notes of chocolate and cocoa and a bit of coffee. The overall impression is a rather weak stout, but it was very nice to experience a typical Milk stout, thank you Steve. 1892

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2007 Light smoky aroma with a rolling tan head that settles slowly. creamy full but shortlived body. Oaty with vanilla and caramel gentle bitterfinish. Better on the warm side. Let it sit in your glass and read a chapter, youíll thank me.

The lactose is strong in this one, especially in the finish, it just leaves you with a neverending taste of bad milk. Whoops. Overall this is not too bad, but it tastes a little "cold," really, with that kind of bite, even as it warms to over 60. Aroma is nice, if very mellow and subdued, roast and milk. Really the sour milk thing is too much, I canít take it.

Dark pour with a moderate sized light tan head, average at best lacing. Aroma is coffee, oats, light roast and chocolate, caramel. Flavor brings this, a light sweetness, creamy mouthfeel. Nice.

Black/brown with a modest, frothy tan cap. Roasty, burnt malt and subtle chocoalte-coffee cream. Medium, balanced body. Solid.
