Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate aroma. Dark brown though not opaque. Ruby tones. Thin diminishing head. Sweet, somewhat cloying chocolate flavour. Slight roastiness in the finish. Medium-full body. A bit one dimensional. On tap at the TapNY festival.

TAP NY sample. Black, little nose; milky head. Chocolaty, but in sort of an artificial low-cocoa chocolate way. Bittersweet, thin, flat finish.

Draft at TAP NY. Aroma is very chocolatey. Pours a mildly transparent dark brown/mahogany color. Caramel/chocolate taste throughout. Very drinkable. A good stout. Could be more opaque and darker. Bittersweet beer.

I actually drank this on tap in Kingston, about ten minutes from where its brewed. Had a small tan head and dark brown/black appearance. A very sweet taste that was smooth. Definately a good stout. Wish it was available more. Other raters should try it.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 defCon (19) - Albany, New York, USA - DEC 20, 2003
This is the mother's milk -- nice, creamy head that takes three or four sips to get through, but even that is good. Very thick, unlike many stouts, hints of chocolate and sweetness but still definitely a good beer. Aroma is absent, appearance is very dark, almost black, very easy on the palate, and after one or two sips you'll be asking for more.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 mribm (440) - Hurley, New York, USA - DEC 17, 2003
64 oz. Growler. Pours with a nice sized, creamy, tan head which dissipates quickly. This stout had a delicious roasted chocolate nose and it tasted like a smooth chocolate soda. This was really smooth, delicious and satisfying. I'm sorry I waited so long to try this beer.
