Commercial Description:
Mother’s Milk, as the name implies, is a dark and creamy milk stout. Hints of oatmeal, chocolate and of course, milk make Mother’s Milk’s remarkably smooth and silky finish a classic example of the style.

Keegan Ales Mothers Milk Stout is a beautiful black in color with a very nice tan head. The aroma and flavor are soft and sweet with chocolate malts while the finish is smooth and silky.

Roasty and malty sweet nose. Very dark color with a nice tan head an da little lace. Flavor is just awesome, very silky chocolate flavor with some good roasty malt sweetness. Just a shade sweeter than I would like it to be, but a beer this sweet always has it’s time and place. If I were able to purchase this more often I indeed would!

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark black with a medium sized light tan head. Smokey toasted malt aromas with a hint of sweetness. Body is a little thin, bordering on medium, with even more roasted malt coming through. Finish again has nice roasted elements and a gentle bitterness to balance it all out.

Pours a dark cola color with a bit of a tan head. Aroma is malt chocolate and bitter coffee. Flavor has some nice stout characteristics, but there iss a weird metallic aftertaste and the coffee bitterness clings to the inside of your mouth a bit unpleasantly. Not bad, but not great.

Pours dark brown with a light cream head that last for a little while and leaves no lacing. The aroma is heavy on roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. The taste follows the aroma with a more bitter coffee flavor than the aroma. The mouthfeel is light and fairly thin with some carbonation. This is an average stout that is fairly basic overall.

Ebony body with a mocha wig, this stout warns you with strong coffee and chocolate notes. A bit too much on the mocha side for me, but very smooth and relaxing.

Appearance: Deep black with a creamy pancake head. Aroma: Smoky, peat and malt, some coffee and chocolate there too. Flavour: Smoke, peat and malt. Nice and honest brew.

Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is of dust, some coffee and licorice. Roasted malt followed by some nice sweetness and a dry bitter finish. The body is a little too light – it lacks the silkiness I would expect from the oats and the sweetness from the lactose – both important ingredients in a milk stout. Perhaps they should add more.
