Oct 16, 2006 Pours black with hints of red coming through with the light. Average size darker tan creamy head that left some nice lacing. Aroma of coffee grinds, cocoa, roasted malts, some vanilla. Was starting to pick up some coffee with cream and light sugar as this warmed. Flavor was more of the roasted malts, the coffee grinds, dark chocolate and lactose.

May 23, 2007 Pours deep brown with a small creamy tan head. Aroma of fruit and roasted chocolate malts. Thge flavor is sweet, fruity, chocolate, roast, sweet. Good body, good brew.

Aug 24, 2006 Looks amazing. Pours a dark blackish color with a brown head. Tastes amazing as well... creamy, chocolatey, coffeeish, but tart and fruity almost.... just damn good.

Apr 4, 2009 12 ounce bottle. This one was nice and dark. Smelled kind of chocolatelike and tasted the same. Definite roast malt taste in the finish which was thin but good. I liked this oen would buy again

Sep 5, 2007 Pour an opaque black with a tan head that fades slowly to a solid cap with good lacing. The aroma is a bit sour. Nose is of roasted malt, burnt coffee, licorice, milk chocolate, oatmeal and cardamom. Nice creamy, yet slightly tingly mouthfeel. Sweet, milky, malty flavour with notes of coffee and bittersweet cocoa and hop finish. The sourness is apparent in the taste too. Good drying, heavy body gives the brew great palate duration.

Jul 11, 2007 Pours black and opaque with a 1/4 inch light brown thick head. Smells of currants, roasted malt, and chocolate. tastes of thiick chocolate, caramel, coffee, and raisins. Aftertaste has a strong bite which is not displeasing in any way! Great beer from a great brewer!

Jan 24, 2009 Roasty and malty sweet nose. Very dark color with a nice tan head an da little lace. Flavor is just awesome, very silky chocolate flavor with some good roasty malt sweetness. Just a shade sweeter than I would like it to be, but a beer this sweet always has it’s time and place. If I were able to purchase this more often I indeed would!
