12 oz bottle. Pour is mostly copper with red edges and a fairly tight tan head. Nose has a light malt base with hints of oak and a fair bit of green apple sweetness, acetaldehyde as I am to understand. Taste has a bit of oxidation, notes of oak and some boozy characteristics. Malt base is fairly rich and dry, a touch tart and definitely a bit off. Full bodied, dry finish, well carbonated.

Draft at pony bar HK. Pours a deep amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is medicinal and super sugary malts. Mouthfeel is slick and almost syrupy with the malt bomb front and center. A perfect example why IPAs should never be this strong. Sugar, malt, cough syrup, shoe polish?!? Christ this is a mess.

Poured from 12 oz bottle. Had 7 12 oz shipped to me from NY, this is the 4th bottle I have opened. Nose is off on this, heavy acetaldehyde aromas to each bottle so far. Nice golden honey in color, with a small off white head, with good lacing. Taste is sweet, bitter, and a bit oaky. It is definitely boozy, leaving that warm aftertaste with bitter notes. Overall it seems to miss the mark, and Iím gonna hold on to the last two to see if they improve next December.

12oz bottle, definitely not the limited release version. Pours hazy amber with an off white head. Smells of honey and dried fruit with a touch of floral hops. Drinks smoothly with mild lingering hop bitterness. Medium to full bodied. Tastes of honey, vanilla, dark fruit, with slight woody undertones. Quite tasty.

Pours hazy orange. Thin head with tropical fruits and honey nose. Tastes of lots of honey, quite malty, tangerines, light pine, slightly medicinal. Not too sweet and oak and booze finish

Orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some orange and biscuit malt notes. The flavor is full of perfume and floral notes as well as some orange citrus character. I also get some biscuit malt, a hint of alcohol and a medium amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

growler Hazey caramel Peach spiced and cedar sweet Malty smoky. Decent overall just a bit too malty for my taste but it is a 12% beer.

Sampled from an enormous 1l bottle @ Top Hops (BA) Bottle Share. This is cloudy and has a orange/brown color in the glass. Not to much of a head really, just a thin film sticking to the sides of the glass. The nose is nutty and yeasty with traces of both rye and wood. In the taste I get more nuts and yeast. It also has lots if spices going on actually. The only one I manage to identify is ginger and there are also some wet grass towards the finish. Actually quite a nice one, but that enormous bottle alone? Could be a challenge, but Iíll give it a go.. 15.06.2013

Bottle from New Beer Distributors, 08/10/2013. Pours clear, burnished mahogany, copper highlights, creamy off-white head, fades to smooth haze on the surface, sticky lacing. Aroma is thick caramel malts and toffee, resinous pine hops covered with honey, wood finish. Taste is honeyed caramel, sweet citrus piney hops, dark toasted malts, touch of vanilla in oak finish. Thick body, tad resinous and hot. Fairly tasty, definitely like the prototypical imperial red.

My wife and I aged this beer for about a year and a half in our wine fridge. This was by far one of the best beers I have ever had the liberty of tasting. Head was full and frothy, a touch of floral from the hops. Just incredible! I wish I had a notebook as I was tasting it, but I was enjoying the night and sometimes donít like to over analyze things. THE BEST!
