Draught @ Battersea Beer Festival. Grassy hops and dry malts. I found this thin and not very satisfying, but I wouldnt deny that it was crisp clean and refreshing.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2013 Draught at Battersea BF 2007. Very drinkable pils. Very crisp and clean, very good subtle citrus flavours if a bit metallic. 3.4/5. Re-rate on tap at GBBF 2013. Most right thinking people’s beer of the festival. Such amazing hop that leapt out of the glass at you, so green, so verdant, so amazing, then the perfect colour and clarity and frothy white head, and the carbonation and the pale malt and then the bitter finish. Stunning. Simply a world class beer.

Bottle, 4.6%. Very dusty, slightly hoppy aroma. Pale yellow colour, small white head. Good maltiness with a bit of dust and some fresh hops. Medium bitterness, good mouthfeel.

TheGrandMaster (2334) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 3, 2006
Draught at the brewery, a very clear pale straw colour with a large foamy white head. A grassy, yet floral, aroma - very engaging. A very smooth mouthfeel for a Pils, distinct and clean, a pleasant dryness int he finish. Floral hops in the typical grassy Pils flavours. Very easy to drink considering it was 11AM.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very pale pilsener golden with a small, white head. Very noble, floral hop aroma. Medium body with sweetish malt and some fresh almost vitamin like accents. Dry, hoppy finish. Very clean and well crafted. 160906

After os many Ales, one beer like this is always good. I mean, not that the Ales are bad, but a change is good. It was very German style, a little tiring after a while, but good in the whole.

Bottle. Sickly pale yellow pour, creamy white head. Sweet floral hop aroma with only light maltiness. Taste is very rounded, nice bittersweet balance, a touch sweeter and much smoother than the Keesmann Hell. Light-to-medium body, light floral hoppy finish.

diabel (1590) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - JUL 31, 2006
Draught at the brewery Fizzy, fully diminishing head. Fair lace. Clear, yellow body. Weak nose of hops. Lightly bitter initial flavour, becomes more and more bitter to the end. Very hoppy flavour. Nice pilsener, but rather one dimensional, but perhaps most of the pilseners are one dimensional.

MartinT (7523) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 24, 2006
Impressions from the Gaststätte:
-Wooden hops reach lightly citrusy fruitiness in the aroma.
-Foam disappears within the clear, pale golden.
-This is very light-bodied, and bureaucratically clean.
-Spicy, wooden, herbal hops procure pleasant moments for the tastebuds.
-A beauteous bitterness produces a drying effect.
-Although a fun name, this Herren Pils is far from a "man’s" pilsner.
-This is a well-made, flavorful yet accessible German pils, which doesn’t feel Franconian at all, imho.

On tap at the brewery.
