Ober (1161), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands Nov 6, 2009 Tap @ Bockbierfestival 2009. A clear golden colored beer, with a white head. The aroma of malts with yeast. A little grassy with fruits. The taste is a little bitter with sweets. The aftertaste is sweet with hints of bitter. thebeertourist (2751), Oslo, Norway Nov 2, 2009 Bottle from De Bierkoning. Golden with a medium, lively head. Sweet and grassy aroma, repeated in the flavours. Not very bitter, some hints of bread. A bit boring and too much like a dortmunder. mj (4975), Colorado, USA Oct 20, 2009 bottle at keesman in bamberg. called heller bock. rich clear gold body with a fine off-white head. nose of candied sweet/crystalline hop resin and pale cracker/biscuit malts with a small note of honeysuckle and sweetened greens (sugar snap peas). full and hefty body, little bit of acidity and sharpness across the middle, a little lactic, more of this green bean/sugar snap pea character. minimal bitterness, honey sweet malts mainly, finished a little oily, a little syrupy. good but not great. altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Apr 24, 2009 On tap at Wildeman. Golden body with quick-receding head. Herbal nose. Spicy with taste of caramel and sweetbread. Has a nice bite to it. Prickly mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable. A different type of Bock than I am used to. mirjukka (695), LOHJA, Finland Mar 14, 2009 bottle 500ml One Pint Octoberfest 2008 shared with FatPhil & Anna golden yellow grainy tickling dash of fruity modest bitterness. Sweetish vanilla and mustard aroma. Initially a bit dishwatery, a touch of soap. Some butter in aroma too. Fair amount of malty body, some spicy ginger, decent hops. Pleasant full body. Good solid bock. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland Dec 28, 2008 A 500ml bottle tasted at One Pint Pub. Grassy nose. Pale golden yellow colour. Pale head. Slightly sweetish. At the end hoppiness. Borresteijn (1349), Amstelveen, Netherlands Oct 26, 2008 Tap @ BBF ’08. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma is very pilsner-like, grainy and malty. Flavour is very malty and rather sweet with a bitterish finish. Medium bodied. Not my kind of beer.
