Draught @ brewery tap, Bamberg, Germany. Clear light amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light hoppy and yeasty, sugar. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (171007)

Draft. A dark yellow beer with a thin lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet and very malty combined with light notes of grain and alcohol. The flavor is very sweet and at the same time sparkling and fresh - one of the freshest Heller Bocks I’ve had, there is quite a lot of malt sweetness combined with light notes of grain, leading to a slightly bitter finish.

(On tap) Clear, deep golden with a small, off-white head. Sweetish malt aroma. Fairly full-bodied with a rich sweetness from the plentiful malts without ever appearing sticky. Moderately hoppy finish. A decent pale Bock. 071106

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is alcohol, malts and some grass. Flavour is sweet grassyness, malts, alcohol and slight hints of raisins. Still a very watery bock.

Draught at Hagges Bärsklubb, Nynäshamn, Sweden. Hazy pale golden. Grassy, dry and strikingly hoppy. The rich maltiness and full body is hardly noticed under the rich blanket of aromatic and bitter hops. Long, very bitter finish. Another excellent Franconian bock!

Bottle, 6.2%. Ashtray aroma, better than it sounds. Clear yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is clean, has a hint of dust. Not really caramelly. Just as much a clean strong lager as a Bock.

Bottle @ Bierzwerg. Pours clear golden with a small off white head. Lots of grain, bread and hay. Fruity. Medium bodied. Smooth with a pleasant bitter finish.

Vom fass at the brewpub. Golden. The aroma has some herbal hops and a fair amount of bready malts. Herbal character - starts with a fair bit of sweetness and then fades to a mild hop bitterness with slight acidity . Solid, but not upper echelon Bamberg bock.

On tap at London Drinker 2006. Gold, no head. Nutty, golden syrup flavours. Good dry citrus finish. Juicy. Fine if a tad bland at times.
