UPDATED: JUL 14, 2009 Draft at brewery. Clear, copper, with great white head that lasts and leaves splotchy lace. Nice malty aroma is bready, with some caramel. Soft mouthfeel. Has a great malt profile with a stunningly good crusty, bitter, fine finish. Very good balanced beer that satisfies those of us with a hankering for liquid bread. Fabulous. Liked it better the second time around...

(6/30/08) Draught (I think) at Stöhrenkeller in Bamberg. Clear amber color. Malty and toasty aroma with some light vegetal hints. Sweet flavor, slight sugary, with some caramelly malt and hints of bread. Medium-bodied.

Bottle. Amber color. Malty aroma with cakedough. Malty, flowery, light hopbiter flavor. Some cake dough showing up again in the aftertaste. Typical Franconian. Tasty, malty sweet and almost fat.

imdownthepub (12590) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2008
On tap at Brauerei Keesmann, Bamberg. Amber beer with white head. Thin and malty lagerbeer, quite dry but carbonated tinny, cardboard. Not the most pleasing of beers nor brewpub.

Maria (10205) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUL 7, 2008
Dark amber with a nice, huge and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and caramel. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, caramel and a slightly metallic, grapefruit-like, dry bitterness.

500ml bottle at Cambridge BF 08. Amber with lasting beige head. Very tasty lager. Biscuit, bit cakey. Admittedly I expected something a bit more on the helles side. A little toasty. Tasty mid brwon lager, bit of depth. A little bready, fine. Drunk sat under a tree on Jesus Green during the afternoon kick out.

(bottle) Clear, light amber colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet cara-malty nose with notes of sour dough and an apple fruity tinge. Slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly cara-malty and subtle fruity taste; dry, malt-accented finish with a moderate herbal hoppy bitterness (17.02.08).

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 28, 2007
Golden colored, not very unfiltered appearance, only slight hazyness can be seen. Sweet, cardboardy, still rather clean and fruity aroma with some handmade-yeast tones. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is also crispy with this lemony fruits and good hoppy touch, some yeast comes also up. Again, nice crispy handmade-toned, still clean brew from Keesmann.

Aroma of caramel malts and hops. Some flowers and fruits. Clear, amber-orange coloured with a lasting head. Taste is sweet, clean with some caramel malt and fruity/floral hops. Nice stuff.
