2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught. Golden colour, big creamy white head. Aroma is caramel, malts and hops. Flavour is caramel, malts and hops. Wellbalanced and refreshing, even though it wasn’t so exciting.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 1 March 2007) Dark golden colour with pale hints of amber, firm white head. Clear (I wouldn’t really guess that this was unfiltered). Malty nose with fruity hop aromas of orange and apricots. Malty, slightly fruity taste with caramel, orange, apricots and spicy hops in the finish. Nice, tasty lager with a fruity edge behind the malt.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(On tap) Beautiful, clear - much clearer than you’d ever expect from an unfiltered beer - amber golden with a nice, creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Completely clean, malty aroma with a whiff of caramel. Medium body again with these incredibly clean malt notes with a touch of burned caramel. A dry finish. 071106

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A Sim Rate (bottled from Quinn’s): Off-milk aroma. Quite a nice palate but spoiled by the thin flavour.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught @ Keesman, Bamberg. Light with grassy hops. Not so clean fruity finish which might work well with more full on flavours but with the light flavours on display here doesnt really cut it.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught, as Keesmann Dunkel (which it is obviously not). The aroma is weakly spicy/peppery. Clear dark amber colour, small stable head. The flavour is quite mild with a hint of earth. Rough, but low to medium, bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
At the brewery tap Off-white, creamy head which diminihes mostly. Amber to golden body. Nose of cookie, grain. Moderately sweet initial flavour, lightly sweet and moderately bitter finish. So, the bitterness shows up in the end.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Any first impressions?
-A bobbing head collapses into the peachy golden.
-Bready pils malt makes up a very shy aroma.
-Crisp herbal hop bitterness is splendidly balanced by the toasty, bready malts.
-The comfortable carbonation lets the suave maltiness take the lead.
What if you dig deeper?
-A knowledgeable herbal, earthy, leafy hop bitterness amicably remains.
-The biscuity bread crumbs come back after the hops’ bitter scenario; this one is really balanced all the way.
-Well-crafted throughout...what else can you expect from these Franconians?
Bottle; best before August ’06.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at the brewpub: Light amber coloured, mid-sized lacing white head; sweet dark malty nose, delicate sweetish (malty) flavour with a light bitterness in the background, soft MF; slightly bitter-malty finish. Well quaffable, very O.K...............
