Our Hamburg Style Lager Prototyp was not only our first beer, it was the first of a kind in Germany and turned into a „Prototype“ for a whole new Beerstyle in Germany. The unique and fruity flavor of the Prototyp is backed by dry-hopping the beer. After primary fermentation it is matured for seven weeks with two different aroma hops. The Prototyp is smooth and refreshing like a lager beer and has the fruitiness of a Pale Ale. Naturally - unfiltered and not pasteurized. Brewed by the Beer Sommelier World Champion 2013/2014.

Quite hoppy fruity aroma with the hops bringing both bitterness and aroma to the beer. The hops help the beer make a step towards something intresting, but in the end it’s not quite enough and the beer stays nice but not all too exciting.

Bottle. Grainy malt combined with citrusy hops with notes of mandarin, passion fruit, spruce. It gets more grasssy in the flavour though. Some rotting fruit, autumn lieaves and a prominent mineral note that is spoiling the fun, together with overcarbonation. Not bad but not really good either.

Bottle from Beerhunter111, many thanks! Seems heavily oxidized right out of the bottle. Also lightstruck and generally not good. Meh.

0,33l bottle at home as part of Euro Local Swap courtesy of Beerhunter111, big thanks. BB 10.02.2016. first pour was clear yellow, 2nd pour is dark yellow / almost orange and quite hazy. small white head. smells acidic, grapefruity, light sweetness, kiwi, herbs, light flowery, light lemon grass. surprisingly, quite nice smell. medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of spices, herbal, light sweetness, overall a spice mixture that always reminds me of ketchup, some lemon grass, lightly peppery. finishes balanced (almost no bitterness) with notes of lemon grass and some herbs. decent stuff, liked the smell a bit better, smell was nice and fresh, taste is a bit boring overall / dont like the spice and lemon grass notes so much. overall drinkable.

330ml bottle (Muhlen Bar, Cologne)
Super refreshing spicy pils aroma - gingery hops, just great. Nice hazy straw, small head. Pleasant light fruity malts i the taste, sweetish, but refreshing. Quite simple, and a bit of a letdown after the aroma.

Bottle bbe 15.12.15. Clear, pale yellow beer with white head. Intense hoppy aroma and taste of straw, grass and light malt. Light body with medium bitterness. Overall a refreshing and nicely hopped lager, that is not too demanding when looking for "just a beer".

0,33l Flasche. Hellgelbes Bier mit viel feinperligem Schaum. Es riecht nach Kräutern, Hopfen und Getreide. Herb-frischer Geschmack. Bitter Abgang.

(Kehrwieder PROTOTYP ) Bottle 330 ml from a trade with Beerhunter111, thanks! Served into a glass tankard at home, ABV 5.9% Pale yellow colour on the body, almost totally clear, with a tall and thick white head on top. Quite good retention. Aroma has light grains, earthy notes, citrus, grass. Nice taste, fresh, with citrus, lemon peel, faint malts, grass, grains, earthy notes. Medium thin body, good carbonation, mildly dry palate. Very good.
