Bottle (BB 03-2016) @ De Wiering, Leuven. Aroma is light herbs, chicory, somewhere a bit banana. Appearance: clear blond, little thin sparkling, lacing head. Taste is herbal too, alcohol is present, sweet fruits. Aftertaste is long sweet but ends dry bitter. Started really good, but got more average while drinking.

Abbey tripel, golden blonde with very strong, rocky head and rather complex, yeasty, fruity and spicy character, light sweetness, yeasty and bready, with dry finish of warming alcohol and herbal hops. Tasted at several years of age from a 75 cl bottle and the aroma had become a bit saison-like. Above average for a Van Steenberge brew.

Een tripel zoals het hoort te zijn: een uitgesproken smaak, dit is een goede tripel.

330ml botttle. Hazy amber color. Medium size, thick white head, stays. Metallic, malty, alcohol in aroma. Malty, alcohol, sweet, bitter taste. Crisp and lively mouthfeel.

Dorée claire, effervescence moyenne-forte, col blanc assez abondant et persistant. Odeur bizarre, genre égout, idem pour la première impression au goût. Pour le reste: mauvais vin blanc (astringence comprise), miel, bananes et petite amertume. Bofeuark!

Pours misty yellow to amber wit huge soapy beige top, light lasing. On nose it comes dominant fruity-yeasty with sweetener like honey in background, malt and hops presence is weak to medium. Taste is sweet with elegant medium bitter at the end. Bubbly lively carbonated and refreshing it was to me, finish is mild to medium dry. To me it seems not tripel, just OK Belgian strong ale.

Malty and quite yeasty, bread, bit honey, spices, some hops, bit fruity. Sweet with moderate bitter finish. Hmm.. normally I would read my description and would want to buy this, thou overall I am not very excited.. Maybe I can blame poor balance, maybe bit watery.. Emm.. anyways.. drinkable brew, quite OK

Clear golden orang with an off white head and heavy lacing. Aroma of wet dog, must, medicine, and sweet fruit. Taste is sweet, medicinal, and grainy. Medium bodied. Smoothly carbonated. Not good.

Yellow with a white head. The aroma is full of grass and biscuit malt. The flavor is similar with some biscuit malt, Belgian yeast and grass. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

5/III/13 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 9/I/14 (2013-215)

Clear blond to light orange beer, big fizzy dense head, crackling (sound), falling down quickly, little adhesive. Aroma: pretty sweet, ripe banana, orange blossom, bit yeasty, sugary. MF: a bit too much carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet, sugary start, some dairy, defined yeasty character, some banana, bit spicy. Aftertaste: yeast, more banana, sweet and sugary, little bitter but not much, bit sourish, might be the carbon, pretty chemical ending, alcohol noticeable, warming the throat. You can do better than this, Van Steenberge!
