33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, not complex brew, not balanced, hazy, rocky head, nothing special

08/01 0.33 l fat brown bottle @Hopdevil, Zagreb. Murky golden body with medium sized and short living head. Weak, somewhat yeasty aroma, not bad, but pretty industrial. Flavor is also boring, damn simple, OK, there is some orange, banana, spicy yeast notes, but dull and so industrial it ruins an idea of a nice Belgian brew. Medium-long bitterish finish. OK for drinking, but one of the worst Tripels I’ve tried.

Bottle. Clear medium yellow color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted, bread, cabbage, moderate to heavy yeasty, barnyard, sewer / drain, stable. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (110408)

scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 20, 2008
Draft – Brasserie Beck (DC) – Gold, fluffy white head. Complex aromas of musty cheese and barnyard funk are well layered over notes of lemony citrus, chardonnay, and hints of old oak. Tart lemon cheese and funk flavors balance on light vanilla wood notes. A soft fruity hop ending rounds this out very well. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Not sure what’s in those bottled versions, but I thought this draft version was fantastic…

Bottled. Clear golden with big cottony head. Almond paste with a touch of sewer in aroma. Pretty light bodied with alcohol shining through. Bit juicy in maltiness and bittersweet.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Clear gold with a once massive, now thin but lasting white head. Nose of refried beans, coriander, yeast, oranges and pepper. Taste is much the same, yadda yadda yadda, bitter, alcoholic hop finish...
No, I mentioned the bisque...

Blond coloured beer, light carbonation. Yeasty aroma finishing off fruity and alcoholic. An enjoyable stong ale.

DruncanVeasey (7144) - NUNEATON, Top 23, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - DEC 27, 2007
Swigs of Pa Jenner’s on Xmas evening. Aggressive peppery crushed coriander/ spruce nose. Chewily citrussy and stingingly alcoholic, with soap and softening wheaty afters. Faint haze. Raw ethanol bitterness. Unsubtle, peppery, overly alcoholic tripel without anything to really distinguish or recommend it.
