From Peckhams in the shopping mall at Aberdeen train station. This looks somewhere between a Scottish and a Belgian blonde - a bit like the former but with an extra big fizzy head. The nose has lemon and hay notes and there is more of the same on the taste. The palate has a medium body, a tangy middle texture and a sharp clean finish - not bad. Overall, I like it despite other people’s ratings.

Bottle from Scottish Real Ale Shop. Hazy golden colour, white head. Nose is light malted, lemon, little sourness. Flavour is malty, sour, yeasty, flowery. Fairly carbonated. Sour finish. Odd golden ale, not too well.

Bottle from Cross Stobs Bottle Shop, Barrhead. It has the look of a wheat beer, large white head. A very sweet start, finish and I hate to say it but this is horrible.

Grassy vanilla aroma. Hazy golden brown colour. Very dry hoppy biscuit flavour. Different from cask version and not quite as good.

Bottle, Victoria Wine, Glasgow. Poured a hazy amber with a thin dirty white head. Biscuity malt aroma, quite sweet. Possibly an off bottle, carbonation too lively, some sourness. Muted, musty hop. A wrong un , and I’ve got cart blanche to stick this down the drain.

I bought this bottle in a local pub in Barrhead, Scotland 2005. It’s a dark golden beer with a nice head. The aroma has notes of fruit and caramel and the flavour is lightly sweet and has a lot of fruit, caramel and aroma hops. I do not find the wheat. It has a nice, dry finish and a lot of personality.

at the battersea beer fest, enjoyed it more than some of the others, definitely a dry aftertaste.
