Named after Paisley's river, White Cart Water, this golden full bodied ale boasts smacks of flavour. The appearance is enhanced by a touch of wheat malt, giving good head retention and a wonderfully dry after-taste that won't be easily forgotten. As the name suggests feel free to enjoy 'Cart Blanche' as the mood dictates.

A very pleasant and nice summery beer. Has more going on than most but nothing special

(Cask at Gallows Bird, 20120908) The beer poured pale golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were white wine, malts, fruitiness, white bread and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A bit weird but still quite nice brew.

Cask at the Gallows Bird, Espoo, Finland. Clear golden colour with almost no head. Aroma is very weak with some fruitiness. Flavour is quite a like. Super easy. Nothing wrong but too easy to be enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasted this in The Esquire House, Glasgow in January 2006. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale straw in colour with a thin white creamy head. Strong tropical fruit salad aroma, long in intensity. Creamy refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a strong fruit base of lychees, mango, pineapple and honeydew melon. Strong floral notes from the powerful smack of hop resins combine well with the malt. Finish is dry and robust with warming melon liquour notes rich in the mouth. A superb Golden ale, very easy to drink as a session - beware and highly recommended.

Bildar skum som en Guinness. Lätt, lätt doft av rostad malt, lite citrus från humlen. Citrus finns kvar i smaken tillsammans med lite sötma. Strax över genomsnittet för alen jag drack i Skottland.

Cask-conditioned at the Cafe Royal, Edinburgh 7/06/2011. Deep gold with a decent white head. Aroma of grapefruit, apricot and sweetish malts. Flavour had more slightly soapy fruit leading to a tart finish. Good.

Cask (gravity) - Norwich Beer Festival 2010. Pale, clear gold; small & bubbly, lasting white head. Crisp & zesty, fresh citrus - lemon, tangerine - some apple sharpness and grassy hop. Good follow-on on the palate, again those lovely citrus notes, still a touch of apple, sweetness from the malt and finishes grassy. Light body, light to medium carbonation with a short-medium length finish.
